Some of you don't seem to understand you need to be INSPIRED to make good music.

Calling out all these random ass combos of producers shows some of you really don't get it

It's not as simple as Good producer + Good rapper= dope music/dope album

NOT AT THIS POINT IN HIS CAREER

I suspect this is also Jay's problem.... Inspiration for a full album.

😨 shiesh

You can’t argue with results…I mean all the albums with Hitboy are all dope albums…at least to the consensus. I wouldn’t mind hearing Nas over some new/different production besides Hitboy too tho. Not because Hitboy has done anything wrong…it’s just even too much of a great thing can get a little “Damn, again??!!?” after while. I love steak…if all I ever ate was steak I’d be craving for something/anything else tho lol. If I get steak again tho I won’t complain so yeah…if it’s another joint with Hitboy I’m a still feast regardless
Nas hasn’t even addressed another album
or who’s producing his next album and y’all already creating fan fiction about too much of Hitboy is not wanted.

I'm not even a 9th guy anymore but he's been doing stuff like Store Run for 20 years fam. Composure is literally a (sample pack) horn over drums. Ugly is a 70s soul sample loop. The Cure has another sample pack horn before the beat switch into a reworked beat beat and haunting vocal sample. All these beats are dope. Surely we can say "I like Nas and Hit Boy" without going into the weird stan shyt of "Hit Boy is doing things no one else can so stop mentioning other producers who aren't as good." All of that stuff can be done by other producers. Would Premo be able to do a trap beat? No. Does that say anything about Premo? Of course not.
It’s the downplaying of hit boy that is the problem. You named beats just now as “simple” to make as a way to downplay him. You could probably pick beats from every producer and say the same thing.

Nobody’s going to be happy. They’ll come on here and bytch about where are the LES, Havoc, and Large Pro beats?
I agree that's why it's no point in arguing this shyt you either feel or you don't. Does Take it in Blood being a top 10 Nas song make a joint like The Truth less dope? nikkaz are being ridiculous

I'm not downplaying him, I'm pointing out that "x producer can't do y beat" is a logical fallacy when virtually all the producers mentioned in this thread have done similar beats (outside of trap). Everyone is dope. I like what Nas and Hit Boy are doing so I'd like to hear more Nas and Hit Boy. Would I also like to hear other producers on an album? Hell yea, I think it's time. But if it's full Hit Boy production again I'm not gonna trip.

My question for you is before I dip out of this thread is why aren’t those producers doing it right now if they have the capability to do it right now. There are millions of other rappers to create with. Create those beats with another rapper. Producers always have to have intangibles and clear hit boy has intangibles that are valuable even outside of even his beats.

They are you probably just not listening because they don’t have the greatest rapper of all time to vocal it.

ALC Madlib a few others are all still make great stuff, I never rated 9th wonder highly even at his zenith so I wouldn’t know what he has going on.

Alchemist has been doing that for years, and I'm not sure we've had a recent year where he didn't (entirely) produce one of the top 10 best albums of the year. I'm not a big Statik guy but he did most of Joey Badass' album last year and it's really dope. 9th Wonder has been putting out entire projects with Musalini. Metro has been doing entire projects or singles for artists that are dope. Salaam produced an album a couple years ago that features Nas and is dope. Premier just released a collab album with a rapper.

Virtually every producer mentioned multiple times in this thread has been producing a lot of shyt over the last few years. Does that mean they should all be working with Nas? No, I never made that claim. But they're all dope and I wouldn't mind Nas working with any of them. I'm just pushing back on the notion that Hit Boy is somehow miles head of everyone and that's why he's working with Nas. They have amazing chemistry together and clearly fukk with each other heavy. Like you said, intangibles. No need to put other people down to dap Hit Boy, or vice versa.

I can see why people want Nas to work with the producers he used to.

For instance, Lost Tapes 1 is one of my fav Nas albums and a classic.

Look at the producers that produced the majority of songs for that album......it was LES, Trackmasters and Alchemist for the most part.

There's a reason why people have nostalgia tinted glasses.

Actually if you think about it, LES produced some bangers for Nas over the years.......

Name ONE rapper who was making classic songs nearly 30 years into their career.

When you hit em with a fact they can't argue with everyone pretends not to see it.....lol

The expectations for Nas is just different

No one on the Goat list carries a Heavier Cross

Lebron n Nasir are actually very similar...

Instead of folks marveling at Lebron's 20th season, some rather talk about how he got swept n didn't win a championship
