Nas - Magic 2 (Discussion thread)

i had to give magic 1 a quick listen after playing this one a few times, cause i kinda liked this more and didnt wanna jump the gun.

the beats on 1 definitely feel bigger, more impressive. but i'm fukking with the more straightforward production on 2. even when hit starts dabbling in different regions it feels cohesive imo.

no idea where it stands compared to the other four albums tho.

I like this more than Magic 1 but I LOVE experimental Nas so this sound paired with Nas lyricism and FLOW is right up my alley.

After two listens this is great but probably the weakest of their albums after KD1.

I’m actually surprised so many Nas stans are critical here, i thought the booth was nothing but blind Nas followers lol.

KD3 was their peak, 5 albums together is more than enough. I’m super grateful for all of them but it’s time they move on before they become stale

And nobody's saying that you can't be critical of Nas or Hit Boy. Its just the whole notion of "Nas needs to stop working with Hit Boy" that is something beyond criticism.

I don't see what's wrong with it. Nas will inevitably stop producing music at this clip and will be almost semi-retired like alot of his peers so I don't think it's hate for fans to wanna hear him over other dope producers before he does so.

Off first listen I'm only put off by the title and 50 verse. Wish it was longer. I expected an advanced version of magic 1. But taking it in as a whole. Its a few joints I think are ok. Like MEJ He got some bangers on here though.

Edit: On second thought I'm disappointed after 2nd listen. Felt rushed with lack of passion. Disjointed. Feels more like a lost tapes 3. They'll get em on the next one..
