Just skip the songs u don't like and listen to the ones you do
Pretty simple

As far as the 50 joint, they should have gone with a more hyper joint

Earvin Magic Johnson is the weakest here. Main beat is just bad, and Nas gives it a performance it doesn't really deserve, even though the beat switch is nice. The rest of the album is great, but I need to give it another listen to see where it'll land (probably around KDII's level rather than Magic and KDIII).

Oh yeah, was 50 even on this?

Running it back and...

Abracadabra: this is not the kind of beat I fukk with and I'm not into Nas using that flow so this is not for me

Office Hours: beat is ok but I don't think it fits 50 and he wasn't even trying. Major disappointment

Black Magic: not moving me. it's just alright. Thematically it's not interesting

Motion: beat just isn't doing it first half and the switch can't save it. Nas' energy is there but not feeling this

Bokeem: again the beat isn't working for me. the reggae sample isn't meshing with the other sounds. It's like he wants a reggae/dancehall vibe but the drums don't fit that style

EMJ: I don't like these trap or whatever type of beats and the soul loop is lazy

What This All Really Means: broken record, not digging the beat

Slow it Down: swear I've heard this sample before but this is the one song I've felt works lyrically and production wise

Pistols: that piano loop and horns sound cheap

This album has me confused. It sounds cheap and soulless. Really don't get what Hit Boy was going for sonically because a lot of the music feels flat like he was using stock sounds and sample packs through most of it. The drums aren't hard enough or they're not fitting what Nas needs. I can barely comment on the lyrics because either the beats weren't keeping me engaged or Nas doesn't seem as focused and sharp.

This feels rushed and unfocused which is the last thing I expected because Nas in control of his career and doesn't have a deadline to meet. I'm not even gonna give this a rating now but I didn't like it at all.

I wouldn’t say the production is bad at all but they tried a lot of different early on in the album with the abracadabra, black magic and the magic Johnson

The rest of the album sounds like more traditional from these guys

I hear you. I just think for who Nas is, the production on this one just isn't quality.

People will kinda point at his age and all kinds of other sh*t, as to why this is good, but that's just not being honest. I really don’t see how anyone could claim to be a day one Nas fan, and say this project is dope, lol. I'm one of the early Nas fans that always expects dude to constantly have the best sh*t out. That's the level I know he can work on. It's how it was at one point, for mad years. So sh*t like this album just ain't it, for me.

I can't lie and pretend, lol. I really feel like this should be his last project with Hit. He has to start grabbing some beats from legends again. And get better direction. This is the first project since Nasir, that I feel does absolutely nothing for his legacy.

I think this one is a grower cause it's a little disconcerting at first. It's a good thing that it sounds different than all of their other albums tho.
On my third listen. It will definitely be a grower. People are initially put off because it sounds nothing like Magic. Probably should have called it something else, but they already have equity in the KD/Magic series. Up until this point, Hit-Boy's production has kinda sat in between the modern and old school sound for most of their projects (which satisfied older and younger fans). The production for this one is definitely skewing way more on the modern sounding side of the spectrum. Lyrically this shyt will take several listens. Impossible for me to rate now--it definitely isn't as immediately accessible as the others, but them doing something different will age better than doing the same thing every time.

One thing I feel confident about...this was definitely made for the whip.
