off this album?..Bye Baby...Nas is a grown ass man hittin 40...we don't know him..just like anyone..people grow up..change their views..all that...so im not gonna pick a song from fukkin 16 years ago and be like.."yo..THAT's Nas right there.."..it's ridiculous...

I love the balance the album has. Street shyt, and commercial tracks while staying true to his self. Theres a couple tracks he should have left off the album though.

Throwaway tracks:
1. A Queens Story - Terrible production. Salaam Reemi misses completely, and is much better at R&B rap production. Its a shame because NaS is really spitting, but the beat is too unfocused.

2. Worlds an Addicition.

thats where u and alotta people go wrong.

just cuz the dude put out top-tier fukkin flawless excellent music 15 years ago

does not translate to

the album that leaked yesterday being GREAT by default.

peoples ears are clogged with fluf and window dressing. meanwhile my ears are tuned like fine instruments that cuts thru that shyt and sees it for what it is.

:ahh:

everyone on this board is the same. we all love nas. and we all wanna hear him spit excellence over excellent beats like we know he can.

but some people want it so bad they jump at the closest shot they can to get that and dikk ride it instantly.

case in point: this thread.

Another thing is I don't want to hear his war stories. He wasn't really focused on that in his youth. For the most part he down played it. Now he rappin bout the nikkas he killed and how savage he truly is. I mean even if it's true, you 40 years old. Nobody cares. But honestly his flow is terrible on this album.

I don't think the album is great cause it just dropped...like nikkas tryna shyt on Big Mel for liking this album...and that nikka is one of the most CRITICAL Nas fan's I've ever come across...and he likes it...the album is a legit genuine good album to me...there was nothing wrong with it..this shyt aint got nothin to do with the classic he dropped years ago...u asked me what seems more like 100 percent Nas cause u commented about him not being himself...and I named a track on this album..cause this is PERSONALLY where he's at in his life right now...how the fukk is Take It In Blood(one of the greatest Nas songs of all time by the way) more him being HIMSELF than a song about him meeting his wife and their divorce?..really?...

I'm going to listen to it myself and completely ignore what is said on here because as always people deal with extremes on here. No album can be called classic the day it is released. But I doubt it's mediocre given the way he's been rapping the past 18 months. Is there any reason to get the hard copy as opposed to a download on Amazon?

track is too dramatic with Anthony Hamilton adding nothing to the song.

A Queens Story is just terrible production. Reminiscent of tracks off of HHID.

Best tracks

1. Locomotove
2. Daughters
3.You wouldnt understand
4.Cherry Wine
5. Bye Baby
6. Reach Out
