I'm waiting til the actual release date to buy and listen.

I haven't heard ANYTHING yet outside of the singles.

So far, reviews I've seen fall into 2 camps:

1. This is CLASSIC. On par with It Was Written.

2. This is mediocre a la SD, HHID, etc.

Thoughts?

no. what im saying is..

this album isnt good enough to boast about.

this album isnt bad enough to complain about.

its par for the course with nas since like 04. mediocre.

this leak is like a day old. of course its gonna have alot of people sayin great things about it. my opinion is that its mediocre. not great. or classic. or terrible.

I live in the United States
My thoughts. I'm about 3/4 through the album and its the best album I have heard in a loooooooong time.
Certain songs gave me goosebumps. Hair standing up on my arm as I drove bumping a song I'm still not sure what the name is because all I was paying attention to was driving past the George Washington Plantation with some purp in the air as the souls of forgotten slaves slowly nodded there heads in delight as I drove by :lawd:

When I heard Cherry Wine, I almost had a tear come out
I didn't give a fukk about Amy Winehouse while she was alive, but to effectively use somebody who has already passed away?
I can respect that just because I'm a human being. Its touching, and the fact it came off decent is what makes it :ohlawd: Hip-Hop in its rawest form
Its funny yet a damn shame that its not familiar to those who was unguided

:snoop:

So that's what kind of music you look for? music that makes you want to drive a car, make money and have fun?

U sound like a loser bruh I don't need music to make me want to do any of those things!

What kind of music makes you want to brush your teeth and wipe ya ass? serious question :pacspit:
:deadrose:
:whoo:

is this concept hard to relate to? if u cant relate, it might be u thats outta the loop.

if its me, :ehh: but thats doubtful
Its not doubtful at all. Whats highly probable is you was NEVER in the loop in the first place :ooh:
I mean, you and some fellow dumbass friends of yours.. yall nikkaz in some bullshyt loop that has evil overtones. That line about drive fast/make money.. wow. Slow the fukk down and take a look at the music your really listening to?
Its the devil talking to you directly telling you to get rich, fukk the next man.
Seriously, just listen to the lyrics of this song because he's talking about you in this song (not nas)

So what's the age of everyone here? From a cursory gander people are

I can't see a 20-25 year old rocking to this. Too old, too 'real' hip-hoppy, too corny.
Bruh, your name is Penfield. What the fukk would you know about corny when you have come up in the age of Corny?
You live in an age when somebody like Tyler the Creator can be a big deal.
Its like, in this day n age nobody has to pay any dues.
Nas was right about Hip-hop being dead tho. The future has nikkaz like you and that other clown in it :sadcam:

i dont think theres two camps.

98% like it.

2% think its average. if u liked most of his releases since 2004, youll be happy with this.

It's very good. I'm more pleased with this album than I was with IWW. Take that how you will.

yeah im 24. age is not a factor.

u wanna talk real, or introspective, or anything like that meet cormega.

and ive been listenin to him nas az etc since i was 15 so its not about age.

and its not about swag or charisma.

cds like how i got over (roots) are just the opposite. solemn and almost sad. but that shyt doesnt matter if the quality is good. quality is good because theres an energy. a feeling to it. i dont feel shyt off this album. stale.
But I thought it had to make you want to drive a car fast and make money? :stylin:

so people are not feeling it because they cant get jiggy with nas :ohlawd:

i'm not feeling it because the beats are corny and too commercial. if it had more songs like locomotive and nasty, i'd be :dj2:

instead, it has shyt like daughters and other crap i don't care about. because of that, the album gets a

this album however is NOT classic. The Swizz track pretty much sealed the deal on that one :shaq2:

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Having heard it yet sans the Swizzy single.

To the fellas with the remarks stating its underwhelming. What did you expect from Nasir after the last two/3 efforts?

Not a fan of Salaam, i mean... at all.

But this can't be that bad.

What's worse?

A lumberjack screaming, "Life is Wood".
