I love the second half but like the first half as well. I understand Hit’s style so I can live with the best switches but damn. I’d the best parts were their own songs, that shyt will be dope AF.

if they were their own songs they would drag, all of that was strategic. the whole reason 17 songs flies by is not using one arrangement for 3 minutes like standard for a dense writer it was brilliant. keeps the narrative flowing and fresh without listening fatigue.

The beat on the 1st half is my least favorite part of the album but the 2nd half is one of my favorite parts.

Incredible album but that beat isn’t one of HB’s best

I went through that list today and thought it was bullshyt. These white people love Illmatic and hate Nas so much, they can't even find a space for this album when there were 100 slots to put it in.

Gotta make room for Lada Dadi somehow.

They definitely don't love illmatic. They were told to love illmatic with no dissenting voice. They fell in line out of no options. N to retain credibility

Ask any of the nerds that work for these publications who produced Memory Lane , I'm quite confident you did get a blank stare from 80%

Stillmatic is Nas best album to me, I even put it above illmatic and IWW. KD3 is 5 mics far as I’m concerned but nothing touching Stillmatic. Stillmatic is 6 mics

My guy! I always had Stillmatic at #2 right below Illmatic until recently...I finally slipped IWW into the #2 spot...I kinda wanna put Stillmatic back there tho, lol. I love that album...take off "Braveheart Party" and maybe 1 more joint and that shyt is a perfect 100% album, imo.

KD3 is up there somewhere, idk if it's better tho, doubt it.

Stillmatic meant a lot more. At the time Nas was at a make it or break it moment. It was like Nas was down 3 points at the end of the game and announcers were talking about what a great career Nas had. If Nas dropped a dud he would have been bushed. Then Nas hits a logo 3 and then dunks it in OT. The crowd goes apeshyt for an entire year until God Son drops.

KD3 is like Naa is already up. Hitboy passes to Nas for a 360 windmill alley oop. Nas is already GOAT and winning but that was more of a celebration and showoff. Crowd goes nuts but there wasn’t any drama.
