Actually positive! Since those guys grade everything on a seemingly negative curve a 7.1 is pretty strong from them :mjlol:

I never read they’re reviews I just look at the scores and the fact they gave the album a 7 means its an all time classic lmao.

fukk Pitchfork

I think i heard enough, this might be the Best Nas album since Stillmatic :lupe:
Don't think this is anywhere CLOSE to the lost tapes or God son. Which I think are both 4.5 mic albums. This is consistent but just doesn't have the highs of those albums. Absolutely nothing on KD3 or any of the KD's hit me like Heaven or Book of Rhymes. Mastermind. Purple. Poppa was a playa. Black zombies.

Nas is having a dope run but he's still not early 2000 Nas. And hitboy can't match this level of production.

Nope :wow:

How many NaSir how many Top Tier:myman:

...10 year old me knew he was the Magestic MC that would stand the test of time when It Ain't Hard To Tell:boss: premiered on Video Music Box. It's dope growing older with your GOAT still transcending the game:mjcry:

Sidebar, hearing the NBA JAM Man:laff: takes me back to going HAM on the SNES:blessed:

"Heaven" is in my Top 5-10 Nas songs. I can't see it changing because of what it means to me. Then there's "Get Down", which again is another favorite Nas song and then seeing how that whole Brian Nichols thing played out in real life just added a whole other layer to that song. "Book of Rhymes", "Last Real nikka Alive", "Warrior's Song" and of course "Made You Look", which is one of Nas's biggest and best singles. The 20th anniversary is God's Son is coming up, so I won't spend too much time on it.

Lost Tapes is unmovable too. It's Top 3-5 to me. I could put it comfortably behind Illmatic.

I think I might've put KD2 above God's Son last year, but I've been re-thinking that as it has become increasingly difficult to see how his new albums stack against his best material.

True, but fukk them anyway. It's not a 7.1/10 album. And only Pitchfork in their self-importance rates to the tenth decimal.

KD3 is WAY better than Godson. Lets be serious.
Nope. God Son had some of nas's greatest tracks ever. Book of rhymes. Mastermind. Heaven. Made you look. Get Down. Revolutionary warfare. Not a single track on KD3 is fukkin with these. plus magic and KD2 are better than kd3. But I will say the album has grown on me overall. But still not close to God son. And don't even get me started on lost tapes. To even suggest kd3 is better than Lost Tapes is downright blasphemous:hhh:

With KD3, this is actually unique to all other Nas albums in that it has grooves like "Hood2Hood" and "Get Light". Street's Disciple had "No One Else In The Room" and Lost Tapes 2 had "Vernon Family", but neither of those are as good as "Hood 2 Hood" or "Get Light". The production on KD3 is something else. It is consistent, interesting, varied, but most importantly, it's crazy dope throughout.

Almost all of Nas's albums has at least a handful of incredible songs.

Take five seconds to look at the tracklist for Godson. The Cross, Zone Out, Thugz Mansion, Warriors Song... EVERY song on KD3 is better than these tracks.

God Son had some light shyt too. But the highs on that album are so fukkin high that it pretty much negated them. I'd rather have an album that's a little inconsistent but has 7-8 all time classics over an album that might be more consistent overall but doesn't ever reach legendary level. Cause that's what you remember 20 years later. The legendary shyt. And God Son had plenty of that. Some of the greatest beats to ever exist and some of nas's most introspective rhymes.

Come on now:wow:

KD3 is better than God's Son...it took me about 3-4 listens to realize this bc it didn't hit me right away

Lyrically, KD3 is better...I also feel like the king's disease series is really substantive with depth

God's Son didn't change the game...KD3 is making critics, casuals and rap fans rethink rappers aging out of relevancy in the game

God's Son was borderline top 5 Nas project before KD2...after KD2 & KD3, I've got it around 7 or 8 in his catalogue

Nah I disagree with this, it might be good as GS in the future but I can’t see myself putting it above it.

Book of Rhymes
Revolutionary Warfare
Made You Look
Get Down
Last Real nikka Alive

You can legit make cases for these joints being actually classics.
