What's yall least favorite song on here? Lol, just curious. And to make it interesting let's exclude YKTV and EPMD 2.

Those are the only 2 joints I skip ever. The joint I probably listen to the least out of the remaining is "The Pressure". It's fire but I think everything else is just more fire.

YKTV is heat to me, as is EPMD prior to Em showing up.

If I skip anything it's The Pressure. Just start at Death Row East and play straight through.

Full version of the Apple Rap Life interview that someone uploaded

49:50

:ohhh::wow::salute:

Nas was "woke" before woke was cool...in fact it was the opposite of cool, I know some of my friends used to hate when Nas was on that time.

"Make music that's uncopiable. You can't get in my lane"

:ohlawd:, that shyt was inspiring. It's something to think about too, it's not easy to copy Nas's style of rapping and creating...whereas with a lot of his peers you see a hundred mini-me's of them, because they're easy af to copy. :ohhh:

The Pressure is dope. I always start right at the beginning.

but Rare is my favorite track on here. Specifically when the beat switched after the brave heart chant. That shyt is so I’ll. That’s the best part of the album for me.

One thing I keep coming back to: On the first part of Rare, the sample and bassline and rhymes are double time, but the drums sound like a traditional breakbeat. It seems like something that shouldn't work, but it does.
your onto something. The first beat had a traditional hip hop snare and the second beat had the hand clap but is a more NY style beat. based on the style of beats it should have been the other way around with the snare and the clap but it works

The clap and drums on the 2nd beat on Rare remind me of Rakim's I Ain't No Joke. Not sure if that was intentional or not.
