It’s only August but this is hands down the hip hop album of the year

Off Season and Culture 3 following behind

I heard a track from Culture 3 the other day and I might have been a little too hard on them. They can go, Takeoff especially.

My AOTY list is gonna be pretty rough after this, Tyler and possibly Isaiah Rashad. Too many dope contenders

@Waterproof I agree that as a Nas fan it's dope to see him to find success on the business side of things. Definitely one less thing for people to hold over him. I just don't know what that has to do with THIS album. He flossed his success more on that Khaled song with Jay than he did on KD2.

Nas has always claimed he was the best. Just because you just started believing him doesn't mean he switched up.

No doubt homie and right On and I agree with the some of things you say and I'm going to answer it but right now I'm just playing KD2 again with my homies who are hip hop head's and we talking about this album, and I'm enjoying it more now after days of studying the lyrics and music, how this album is critically acclaimed and fans split between KD1, KD2, critic's don't understand the switch of tone and some section of Nas fans don't understand the way he went that way. And I study artist and their albums, when you dealing with great Artist

And now I know why this album have that energy and what Nas and Hit Boy done. By just paying attention, Nas and Hit Boy feed off the same energy like he said it was just them 2 in the studio creating the music, when it dropped Hit-Boy was talking that shyt that energy he had and when he said that he studied Johnny J for that infamous track and when you are studying his production style you listening to the music from that artist everyday. And I'm listening to the beats by him on KD2 I can tell you he listened to 2 albums and it seep in his production on the album. I was like ohhhh shyt this sound like this production from this album.

An Emcee and Producer set out to do something and they did it, they was on the same wavelength and they succeed. I appreciate this album more it shook up hip hop.

I appreciate this album more now I know why I didn't get it. This album joined the ranks of certain hip hop albums by All Time Greats

The Mastermind Nas done it again!

Agreed on the bolded. The 1st album I thought was a dope album produced by Hitboy. On this album they almost damn near feel like a group on some Gangstarr shyt. Maybe it's because he mentioned Hit a little more on the album. And then Hit raps on Composure.

That's why I don't get the bad criticism

Don't think it's classic? Cool. But there's absolutely nothing that can pull this album below an 8/10(it's a 9 imo bear minimum).
Death row East and the song with Lauren Hill gave me chills. I stopped looking at reviews years ago for music. Just movies. These people don’t know what true hip hop is. shyt is a classic. I heard some reviews were calling his album misogynistic :francis:

Yooooooooooooo Nas ain't never worked with one producer 2 times in a row, you can honestly say this is a Nas and HitBoy album but it's a Nas album. Check this out I can tell he held on this album for years but he held on to it to he found the right person he vibe with create that atmosphere.

Check this out this is the final album in the trilogy, I can grab 2 other Nas album's put them 3 in order and play it and have y'all be like:ohhh:

There's a method to his madness, he's a mastermind.

Now I can enjoy it, I appreciate it more and I understand it, and I know what this album means to him and the funny shyt about it, I was like what the fukk we do to deserve that :mjlol:

Enjoy the album y'all sit with it, it's fukkin beautiful but the other things I said Is true

But this is Nas truth when I said his Truth and since it's his Truth does that makes it a classic you can say yes it can, the beats and lyrics don't make it albums a Classic it just some ingredients to it

I still prefer KD1 over KD2 because it's too Gangsta for me for a Nas album and since when does Nas do gangsta rap album.

:mjlol: I see why artist like Kanye West, Jay Z, Lupe Fiasco and Nas think the majority of fans are peons, they be dissing the shyt out of us sometimes in our face in their music and we be bobbin our heads to the shyt
