If J cole/Banks/Tyler fans get to call their respective recent projects "classic", then KD = 6 mics.

It is what it is. Be mad about it if you want.

It's hilarious when fellow Nas fans actually get offended when a new Nas album gets highly praised as if Nas' recent work is prohibited from being mentioned or compared to his previous, amazing work. Dudes get nostalgic and weird.

Oh, u get to Decide what’s a classic and what’s not? :mjlol:

Dawg you gotta be smokin PCP if you think KD 2 is better than Stillmatic.

2nd Childhood
Rewind
You're The Man
Stillmatic Intro
One Mic
What Goes Around
Build And Destroy

To be honest One Mic is better than any song on KD2.

Edit: Before anyone gets started I love KD2.

First y'all sayin this album is better than LIG now Stillmatic. Y'all bruhz need to relax ASAP

Most critically acclaimed album in years:wow:

Lil Wayne stans in shambles. :skip:

Also "Critic" Reviews are worthless. as we see from the earlier posts about the CAC Rolling Stone writer... thats what u base ur opinion on?

But you said yourself critic reviews are worthless…that’s what you base your opinion on? :mjlol:

When u search up the album that Pitchfork review is the FIRST shyt u see.

I've come to the conclusion that it's such a shyt opinion that from hearing the album themselves or read about the album from twitter/ other reviews, most will just be like us and say Pitchfork are a bunch of idiot weirdos.

Anyone who likes Nas is likely to play this album off their own accord and will most likely love it (some may not of course). The people who don't listen to Nas but may be tempted to aren't the type reading Pitch Fork reviews. It will be young brehs reading the praises on Twitter or seeing reaction videos on Youtube. So it's fukk Pitchfork but they won't have a negative impact on Nas' praises

Stillmatic for sure has higher highs but KDII might be a more consistent runthrough. If nothing else, KDII definitely has better production overall...IMO lol.

I get why people would say this is better than Life is Good. That album is largely for his day one fans that are in their 40’s or ppl in their 30’s that have OG’s around them or been in some shyt. For those that don’t like it, revisit it when you’ve had kids, wives, then you’ll appreciate it more.

Either way, let’s not rank albums and compare, let’s just soak in a great hip hop moment with this album. There’s so much to digest in this 51 minute gem.

I didn’t even know it was 52 mins in length…Feels sooo much longer than that :whew:

ironically in some ways Nas was born in the wrong era. Kendrick and Cole cut from the same cloth as Nas i(inferior MCs though they may be) in terms of subject matter and heavily influenced by him and yet they get praised like crazy and do big numbers because this is the woke era. Nas had to play ball with the mainstream as he was at his peak in the 90s/ 2000s, and now he's 47 so naturally younger dudes don't check for him like they would Kendrick

As Nas said:

Now y'all woke, I'm laughing at nikkas
Y'all used to say "Nas talking that anti-establishment business"

If Kendrick dropped I Gave You Power as a single now people would go crazy for it. But for Nas in the 90s that really had to be an album cut

This.

It might affect the metacritic score, but these music outlets and magazines are about as relevant as MTV in 2021.

Young people get their info from social media and their favorite YouTuber, or a viral video. The review was blasphemous, but in the grander scheme of things, I think strong word of mouth will trump that diliberately disingenuous piece of "writing".
