Cacfork was gettin ready for the 6.1/10 until they saw everyone else giving it 8+/10 at the least and they fell back not wanting to look like LA Times Illmatic review :russ:

The Rolling Cac rated Nasir higher than IWW. I don't think anything more needs of be said why they even reviewing rap

Breh all I saw in this review are 'clumsy rhymes" WTF and missing the complete point of this bar

"“Only island that my nikkas knew was Rikers or Staten,” he says on “40 Side,” a line that’s neither clever nor true—his native Queensbridge neighborhood is just across Roosevelt Island from an island called Manhattan."

No fukking shyt. He's talking about his people and it's not meant to be taken literally. Jesus Christ brehs
:stopitslime::scust:

If we saw the pictures of the suburban dweebs writing this shyt, we’d be happy that they didn’t get it.

That’s the downside of Hip-Hop becoming the music of popular culture.

What kind of fakkit shyt is this

That sounds so Caucasian is hilarious
Really...all you can do is laugh after reading that

Meeting a "cool" white person is like meeting an alien. *rare

Unfortunate but true

holy fukk. ive never seen so many people care about how much an album sells before. do yall do this with every album? its exhausting. I could care less if this went diamond or sold 10k. The shyt is dope. period. As long as it reaches my ears is all that matters.

im genuinely curious. does how many streams or sales an album gets effect your enjoyment of said album? I mean Nas is prob my fav rapper ever and sure I guess I'd love for him to get a billion streams but as long as he keeps making music thats all that matters. Unless, you all think that if his numbers are low hes just gonna retire? im sorry im confused.

Bro, I don't understand these dudes either, lol. I seriously think if it doesn't sell a certain amount or get a certain amount of comments on IG from important people that it literally will bring down how they feel about the album or sumn. I know people naturally want to be led and told how to feel/think and have their opinions validated by other humans' opinions, :gag:...but damn, you'd think someone like Nas would have a more standup audience than this.

annnnnd there it is...

for no reason other than music politics, everyone wants to be the clickbait dikkhead and that'll sink the overall rating.

Unfortunately yep.

They couldn’t have Nas up there with Kendrick and past Kanye and Jay-Z with a universally glorified album.

He’ll top out in the high 80’s, which is still great for both Nas and the album. But this doesn’t bode well for the Rolling Stone review.

We DESPERATELY need a resurgence in BLACK Hip Hop journalism. XXL and The Source could always balance out the bullshyt but we don’t have them anymore to represent what the CULTURE really feels

What's worse is he's actually BLACK. But your point still stands.

I normally say fukk Pitchfork

but that review is downright insulting to hip-hop as a genre of music, as an artform... the fukking audacity, there's literally nothing clumsy about KD2

It's an album that is sonically and lyrically incredible, and Nas, a successful 47 year-old is dropping life lessons on every track

I dunno if they're racist or ageist - but it's one of the two

Nah it just sucks to see bad faith reviews. shyt comes off unfair and cheap. U could tell Nas and Hitboy themselves was proud of this and spirits have been up about the positive feedback. Universal praise would’ve solidified Hitboy. The fact that the score got botched on some cornball troll shyt is trash. That review should get someone fired. It shouldn’t be this easy to fukk our artists over.
