I'd say make a KD3, then let it breathe, have him involved or atleast use beats from him in all future Nas projects even if it isn't majority produced by him. Kind of like RZA on Sipreme Clientele.

If he does do another producer collab it should be with someone who has a completely different sound than Hit-Boy, that would be a great artistic challenge for him. Somebody like Cardo would lace Nas.

It can work the other way. Hit-Boy is likely an even more in-demand producer, and he'll probably want to branch out and do a full project with another big name, or even an up and comer with potential. After KD3, sure....him and Nas may branch of a bit.......but even if they dont....if it aint broke dont fix it.

Oh for sure. I'm sure he's interested in doing other things as well as shown by Burden of Proof (probably the best Benny project I've heard too.)

He's also an above average rapper on his own, he may want to focus on himself or maybe drop another Half-A-Mil. :yeshrug:

Sky's the limit for him.

Hit Boy can sprinkle bits of all of their styles in what he’d cook up for Rae PLUS Rae would get more of a commercial boost from the association.

If Rae announces “OBFCL3 Produced By Hit Boy” it automatically becomes one of the most anticipated projects of the year. All the hipster publications of the moment (Complex, Pitchfork, etc) would be covering it. It would be a true EVENT album.

Throughout this time working with Nas, he may have taken Hit-Boy under his wing a bit.....teaching the tricks of the trade with the writing game. If he decides to drop another solo, I wouldn't be shocked if he showed significant improvement.

Question for me, is who would make sense for Hit-Boy to do a complete project with. IMO Freddie Gibbs makes the most sense for me, but who knows.

Freddie
Wale
Raekwon
Jadakiss

I’d really love to see AZ get a look but he might not have the budget for an entire Hit Boy album. Maybe a beat or two.

I'm trying to see him with an up and coming/current act, rather than a legacy act. We complain that there's no new generation spitters but don't put resources into them.

I'd like to see him pair with guys like Reason, JID, Cozz, guys like that potentially.

I wouldn’t call Wale or Freddie “Legacy” acts, and elder statesmen rappers like Jada and Raekwon are still rapping at a high level that they deserve top notch production to go with their rhymes.

Maybe i’m just at a point where i’m not impressed with any of the newer guys to really care but i’d be much more hype to get a Raekwon album over some fire Hit Boy production than I would be to hear any of the new generation outside of…. Yea none of them

You can tell Nas is SUPER proud of this album. He NEVER posts about sales numbers or chart positions EVER.

When Hip Hop Is Dead outperformed ALL predictions and sold 356k first week and was number 1 he was asked about the impressive first week and all he said was “I don’t care” lol.

Its good to see Nas flossing his success a bit. People forget how he’s genuinely one of the most consistently successful rappers of ALL time. People give Hov all the credit in the world for being sales consistent but ignore the fact that Nas had a run of EIGHT STRAIGHT platinum albums from 94-2006. Which includes 6 number 1 charting projects/

Should nas just ride it out with Hit boy here on out. I mean obviously they have to get us Kd3 down the line but what after that? Does he just ride out into the sunset with a couple features here and there.

It’s getting to the point where it would look awkward if he does an album without hit.

I think Hit Boy is going to be Nas' right-hand man for the time being, but I wouldn't want him to be his only producer. That implies that Nas can't make music on this level with anyone else. Salaam Remi was Nas' right-hand man for years, so it all depends on what he's inspired by.

DJ Premier used to have guaranteed placements on Nas albums, but that was twenty years ago. L.E.S. used to be a frequent collaborator, but he hasn't done anything since Hip Hop is Dead. No I.D. could always give Nas something great in the future. And there's always Swizz, RZA, Alchemist.......a lot of options to choose from.

So we could get King's Disease III, but in a few years, Nas could be working with completely different people. Only time will tell.
