Just curious, which would be the biggest examples of underwhelming beats mastering wise? Because I felt the opposite for the most part listening in the car and on a decent headphone/source setup.

OFF TOP THE LAURYN HILL JOINT AND THE OPENING JOINT.. ITS NOT BAD BUT WHEN COMPARED TO HIS CLASSIX U CAN CLEARLY HEAR THE DIFFERENCE

BUT YEA, THE HIGHS ON THE LAURYN JOINT ARE DEF WAY TOO LOUD AND SOME OF THE SNARES ON A COUPLE TRACKS WASNT HITTIN RIGHT EITHER

IM PROLLY NITPICKING, BUT THATS JUST ME LISTENING WIT A PRODUCER EAR

Yeh I think word of mouth and fans talking doing a lot. Critic reviews only at 4. I think you or someone said some albums don’t get that many reviewing. Seems crazy as 2 of the 4 so far UK websites not even US. Perhaps if Nas hits number 1 for the week it will get more critic reviews and therefore more plays/ promotion

this album deserves the word spread of how good it is (even if I think most critics terrible 90% of the time)

Kings Disease OG only got 9 critic reviews. With the relative death of The Source and XXL there’s no authentic entity to relay trustworthy reviews (unless you count HipHopDX) so we’re still waiting on Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and Consequence Of Sound to round out the “white man’s opinion” on the album.

Not to mention…I miss the hip hop blog era like hell right now.

My sad ass every once in awhile randomly types nahright.com into the search bar hoping to be surprised and see Eskay is back up and running :mjcry:

People here thinking Nas wrote Lauryn's verse as if rappers don't constantly write daily even without putting out music smh. Just cuz she hasn't spit a verse PUBLICLY doesn't mean she ain't writing all these past 15 years. You don't have to record a verse to prove that you're consistently writing :mjlol:

Funny we were just talking about reviews @spliz @Jx2 @IllmaticDelta Hit Boy just posted this

Of course I HOPE it stays at 98 but like I said, with Rolling Stone and Pitchfork’s history reviewing Nas albums i’d be surprised. I think if it ends up at Life Is Good levels (81) that’ll be a HELL of a testament to the album’s greatness.

fan reviews very positive. Only two yellow and one red and two of those people who accidentally put negative scores and praising the album as 5/5 haha

I like that Hitboy posted that, even if prematurely since more reviews have yet to come in. That's how you control the narrative of your own album.

listen, I've been on my travels so I've only listened to a few times so I may be on some hyperbole shyt here but

up there with my albums of the year so far.
it might be the best produced Nas album since the early 00's for me without there being a particular stand out beat.

Its nice to see thats hes found someone that can give him a new wind.
he sounds refreshed, nothing forced and everything just easy. Nas getting rich and it reflecting in his music.

theres some corny old man bars here and there that are funny and a couple duds (that Brunch Song is one of the worst of the year) but I love the album.

its a shame that Eminem verse was on there because I was loving EPMD 2 up to that point
"wanna go out like Godfather in my garden"
