Wherever nikkas need to be told on
I just finished the album…Still drunk asf. But cognitively (??), I rank this joint a 10/10. Prolly the greatest NaS album since IWW, I don’t fukking care. This shyt quite possibly even surpassed Illmatic….I may be getting ahead of myself but listen, it’s extremely rare for albums to have me feel THIS emotional. I’m going to sleep on this, I will partake in the discussions on here tomorrow. Much love to all my fellow NaS stans and fans on here. I hope y’all drank well, smoked well, and even fukked well to this album. See y’all when Ra rises to his highest climax before being swallowed by The Great Mother Nut in the evening.

Happy Nasir Day :blessed:

:dead:
I can’t Imagine getting busy to the album :dahell: but especially when getting to this part

EPMD, we're back in business (What?)
Livin' in cramped conditions, we'll give you ammunition
I stock those shelves, I got more shells like Taco Bell and I'm not gon' fail
I got no L's…

:stopitslime:

And I actually like the verse but come the hell on

I’m contemplatin’ at the homebase how I’m used to breakfast in the ghetto sippin’ OJ
That’s a picture right there, a moment in time
Before anybody wanted a photo of mine
Before the internet energy and social decline
Destroyed the vibe foolin’ us with the headlines (keepin’ us blind)
Vultures eat you alive (the key to the signs)
Wishin’ I’d find
One city, one country, one state
Some place to be nobody
Some place to be
Some place you wouldn’t know problems
Some place to be nobody..

:wow:

I said it yesterday or this morning... but this album would be absolutely perfect with EPMD2 and YKTV as bonus tracks - I like both tracks, but they're like speed bumps, they both seem way out of place with the rest of it

imagine a 13 song tracklist

The Pressure
Death Row East
40 Side
Rare
Store Run
Moments
Nobody
No Phony Love
Brunch on Sundays
Count Me In
Composure
My Bible
Nas is Good

would be undeniable 5 mics

two white dudes prevented Nas from a classic: Eminem and Peter Popoff

Seeing how much love the second half of the album is getting this may be an unpopular opinion - I'm tempted to say that the first x3 tracks might be the strongest opening run Nas has had since Stilmatric Intro to Got Ya Self a Gun...

'Take my word like you would from the Book of Revelations' :wow:

Hard to deny that, at this point, Nasir Jones is the greatest living rapper. I'm sorry but you cannot be a credible hip hop fan if you don't acknowledge his claim to the GOAT title.

I remember his promo run into Life is Good where he was killing features left, right and centre - thought that he wouldn't peak beyond that. What a career man. :blessed:

Now all I'm hoping for is that he appears on Doe or Die II to bring it full circle :ahh:

Fully agree they’d be better as bonus tracks. Sequencing at start is a bit strange. However after more listens can definitely still give this 5/5. It’s that good outside of those two

HIt-Boy's production is incredible... far better than KD1

but now that it's becoming less-overwhelming.... Nas is the greatest rapper alive... he destroys every single song, so many different flows, the slightest brags

and just constantly dropping knowledge

it's like a self-help book at times

and some of his best verses are on this album.. Nas might be getting better with age

best rapper of all time, best rapper right now... for me

The Pressure:

I'm convinced Nas always throws out subluminals in all of his intros

but the "God Son Across the Belly" made me really question potential subs

J Cole?
Hurtin’ nikkas I think they out for the rest of the season
Tried to play it cool, they don’t wanna see me heated, nah

Lil' Nas X?

Little versions of who? nikka, there’s no replacement

Kelis (has to be):

She out on the terrace, glass of Petrus with her bestie
Drunk textin’
While I’m out here tryin’ to spread the message
You searchin’ for qualities that I’m already blessed with
R&B exes
Charms on her necklace

Jay-z?

I ain’t made ‘til we all can say that we made it
Been down with the hustle so long feel like we’re related
Take my word like you would from the book of Revelations
Dead presidents, that shyt come when you dedicated
I invеst in education ’cause we wasn’t privy
Wе got busy, put scholarship programs throughout the city
Jefe, did it my way, chairman of the committee

Rat Pack nikkas like Sinatra in the 60s
Come through on some wavy shyt
Valentino camouflage on some Army Navy shyt
I know you can feel the pressure, keep up with my cadences
QB lingo

am I reaching?

All the shyt em fit in the lyrics is pretty insane.

Sounds bad tho. You shouldn't have to pull out the homework to show how good a verse is. The lengths you guys go for this dude is ridiculous. All he has to do is marry the flow to the beat and he didn't do that until the end of his verse.

But technically it's amazing can't always ve the cop out. This is music. His verse don't belong on that album. Look at what Lauryn did. Jesus Christ and y'all talking bout Em?

I always think Nas sending subs to J Cole so wouldn’t be surprised.

I inspired those who inspired you to run up millions

Not a sub but surely Nas talking about him inspiring Jay Z among others
