:heh: What's odd about him saying beer when it was supposedly Coors making him the offer? Youre right about it being strange for him to take that holier than thou seek righteous stance when he rapped about drinking hen along with selling drugs, shooting cats, ect. I don't even hate on Nas for any of this, it just illustrates how delusional a lot of his Internet fans are.
It's odd because you think he's gonna make the broader point that alcohol advertising from a rapper is gonna disproportionately influence kids, but he just keeps saying beer. Leaving the door open that maybe he's just got beef with beer being pushed on kids. Doesn't make sense, but then again his whole reasoning on the point doesn't make sense. At least his heart was in the right place I guess. :yeshrug:
But this isn't about Nas' fans though. This is a thread that's been made over and over. That's why I negged the OP. Nas' fans don't give a shyt about this. No one should. The haters are trying to make this out to be some huge moral failing - but it's more nuanced than that - and ultimately, nobody gives a shyt.

No, just stop it. The shyt is the definition of hypocritical. He didn't just say that he didn't like alcohol. He took a stance as saying that he was above being an artist that would promote alcohol. He completely go back on that stance. It's not about him changing his mind. He was just being full of shyt. The truth is, Nas was never the holier than thou righteous type cat that he and his fans have always painted him to be. He was never above promoting alcohol or working for big corporations. That was a fake ass stance he took on that MTV Diary shyt.

I'm just saying your definitions are out of wack. What he's done is not hypocritical, by definition. He didn't hold anyone else up to a standard that he didn't hold himself up to. He changed his own standards for himself.

I think you're trying to say he's a sellout. Maybe there's a valid case to be made there. I just don't think this falls under hypocrisy. You're allowed to change your values.

I remember watching MTV's Diary of Nas and he was on the phone with Coors they wanted him to endorse their product. Nas was on some naw that ain't me, that ain't what Nas is about.

Fast forward 10 years and Nas is now the Brand Ambassador For Hennessy
What a hypocrite...

I'm not emotional or angry you're just being a bytch. You said nobody is giving him a pass here when people clearly are giving him a pass. You told a lie. Now if you want to continue being a lying bytch, then do you:yeshrug:

has nothing to do with him being responsible for anyone drinking. I believe people change too. But the fact that he did that and never addressed it is corny to me. I also dont respect him making "these our your heros" record then saing he'll smack someone in defense of gwenyth paltrow. He a fukk nikka

I don't think we can expect an artist to have to address every facet of their life or every decision, they are artists. In regards to These Are Our Heroes, I'll give you that, I do think that's a little odd some of his comments after etc considering his stance. Nas certainly has flaws and room for growth, never would say he's perfect, I didn't like the comment he said about Jeremiah Wright for instance, I would take issue with that and say that was most probably out of ignorance as how you gonna big up Farrahkan but on the same album diss Jermiiagh Wright? Lol. Who to me is a good dude, and has done a lot of shyt, I didn't like that, but at the same time I can forgive Nas because I think that's just a case of him needing to grow and gain more knowledge, it's hard cause human beings are imperfect, people's flaws are magnified when they are public figures. Sometimes people say or do things that are incorrect or not very good, but unless it's from a place of evil then I don't like to condemn too harshly, especially as he's said and done many great things too.

Hypocrite: person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefshttp://i.word.com/idictionary/hypocrite

Nas pretended to take a moral stand against doing beer commercials only to later become a pitch man for Hennessey. That "he changed his mind" bullshyt doesn't discount his hypocrisy. A person can change their mind from one minute to the next.

I'm convinced that you cats will argue anything instead of being wrong. shyt is corny. You literally just made up your own definition of hypocrite to try and keep from being wrong:scusthov:
Fanboys like you. That's why you've run in here trying to deflect on some "who cares?" shyt. If you don't care then shut the fukk up.
he said no beer commercials for nas. never said anything about no hennessy commercials.

plus who gives a shyt. the kids he was worried about influencing back then are in their 30's and shyt now :manny:
Nobody giving passes though. :heh: at "kg uh he said beer he didn't say Hennessy". Nas cock suckers have always been the worst.

If you know the dumb shyt that you're saying in defense of Nas doesn't make sense then what's your point of posting it? Why do you keep saying "nobody gives a shyt" as you continue to post dumb shyt in his defense? You do care, that's why you keep posting. You all lie to yourselves.

Look up LVMH, the people who own henny. Stands for Louis Vuitton Moet Henny, a luxury goods conglomerate. I'd fukk with them over Coors. I know he's rich but imagine those free swag bags and that check. I wouldn't say no.

don't put words in my mouth. I never said ANYONE had to explain their whole life. Nas already projected this aspect of his jlife and so ghe deserves this ridicule. He's a fukk boy
