there has to be a reason Kishi made a big deal out of using izanami and going through the trouble of explaining why it was created and the consequences of using it. (The jutsu is played up even more in the Anime and is stretched over 2 episodes)

It sounds way to obvious for it not to be the jutsu that the Sauce uses against Madara, all at the expense of his own eyes.
