man we going to forget about the hidden myst chunin exams :dead:
Naruto was real as fukk at the beginning with little Team 7 almost getting bodied by Zabuza and Haku :russ:

I wouldn't call the story deeper than any other decent shonen though. Kishi's just taken plot points from other mangas like Hunter X Hunter, Berserk, and Dragonball. Then twisted it and made it his own.

Nah, I feel like Naruto and every other Shonen Jump manga is very juvenile when it comes to being "deep".

I've always maintained that while Naruto has complex themes, the execution falls very short and almost makes the inclusion of said complex themes a hindrance. The worst might be how Kishimoto decides to conclude a theme, a hilariously simplistic and optimistic ending where everybody (even villains) wins, which isn't too surprising given that it's in Shonen Jump.

I think in a perfect world that Kishimoto would write Naruto in a way that explores everything he's bringing up. The problem is that he's not the only writer of Naruto in a way. He's dropped easter eggs and hints and has foreshadowed a lot even going back into part 1. He knows how to tell a story, but at the end of the day his publisher is going to make sure he sticks to the shonen jump conventions aka hero always wins.

For what it's worth, I think he's doing a pretty good balancing act of exposing everyone to the dirt of the world by using the ancillary characters. He has to dumb down Naruto and Sas emotional reactions to a certain extent, but he doesn't have to hold Shika to the same shonen rules which is why he had such a shinobi type response to his pops and teacher dying.

The one scene I think about when it comes to the hero rules is Naruto's fight against Kakuzu. They had him hit dude with the most devastating attack and he didn't die. Kakashi dealt the final blow. I don't think Naruto has killed a single person directly. It's always an indirect death. He's the only ninja in the entire Naruto universe on his power level that can say that. Pein died from using too much chakra, Kakashi killed Kakuzu, Haku died saving Zabuza.....I think Sas might have the same circumstance....Correct me if I'm wrong.

I pretty much agree with the first paragraph. That's why I've wanted Kishimoto to finish this story and create a Seinen manga or a Shounen outside of Jump. I'm curious to see if he wants to write a manga one way but editors force him to keep him kid friendly, or if everything that's happened in Naruto the extent of his skills.

I don't have much of a problem with Naruto/Sasuke's reactions, it's everyone that interacts with them that's the problem, ESPECIALLY in regards to Naruto IE; Talk no Jutsu. Converting a soulless, bloodthirsty mass murdering Zabuza, converting a man who spent his life wanting to destroy the major villages and was easily able to kill his teacher only to ressurect the people he killed in Nagato, a psychotic Gaara (this one isn't too bad), Raikage, Sai...I fully expect him to convert Obito and maybe even Madara too. Sasuke is a given of course.

Naruto hasn't killed anyone, but I think it was implied that Sasuke killed some Samurai at the Kage Summit and that Cloud ninja after the Bee fight (tho that could have been Suigetsu or Juugo). I'm not too sure if any of the Konoha 12 have directly killed anyone. The war being against zombies and Zetsu clones makes it clear that Kishimoto didn't want his young characters going through that.

This man tells his stories almost entirely in flashbacks. Thats a sign of an author making it up along the way.

I've always thought it was fukked up how they were teaching kids how to kill and shyt during the Chunin exams etc.

Wtf you think these kids were learning at the academy. They're ninjas fam.

Choji & Neji killed those 2 dudes from the Sound 4.

This was Zzzzz but informative in a way, I just want to see the part where Hashi for the first time releases his 4*4 Plan technique :yeshrug:

And can we get back to the main event, Minato needs to escape and FTG to Naruto to give him the 2nd half of the Kyuubi chakra...

I imagine TNJ is part publisher/part Kishi. I bet if he didn't have the publishers there'd be less of it, but it'd still happen because he's the hero. It'd just be a natural progression instead of instantly. Sas has already slowly been turned from wanting to destory Konoha to considering leaving it alone because of Itachi so when Sas does have the Naruto talk it won't feel as dumb as the Gaara/Zabuza conversion. Pein's conversion I understand because he was already idealistic like Naruto was when he was younger.

Raikage wasn't convinced by Naruto, but by his Bee.

I'm pretty interested.

Just makes me curious as to how Madara went from being, well, this, to a b*stard.

I'm also wondering what'll happen when they find out each other's clans.

Hmm, one thing I noticed is that Madara mentioned that he "had" five brothers, however Izuna (the one who later "gave" him his eyes) is the only one we've heard about. At this point I'd assume that at least one died in war, to set up a parallel to Hashirama. But what happened to the other two brothers?

Well, let's remember that Madara and Izuna both had the Mangekyou Sharingan at some point. And how do you obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan? You kill the person closest to you. In Sasuke's case, he got it from killing Itachi. Did Madara and Izuna do the same?

Or in other words, will Madara/Izuna kill their other two brothers (maybe in some sort of deathmatch?) in order to upgrade their Sharingans? Seems like Oda might be setting that up as a way to show how brutal the Uchiha Clan was.

Plus, if that happens, it would make sense that Madara would later be so salty about allying with the Senju Clan, and then not even being Hokage. After all, it would basically mean three of his brothers died just for him to get the eternal Mangekyou, and after all that they're just like "Nevermind, we decided to squash this beef lol", making all his brothers' deaths for nothing.

i pray you nikkas read other shyt after you get done with this series so you can realize how shytty it is in comparison :dead:

Most long stories always fall off like this though the majority of the best stories are "short" and have definitive endings

look back at the team 7 x haku zabuza fight and even the chunin exams, those shyts were actually complex, shyt even the Sasuke Rescue arc had some interesting fights along with dope backstories for the characters

i dont think i can take another "friendship" being destroyed cuz one uchiha got butthurt :dead::dead::dead:

I'm perfectly okay with Kishi making shyt up along the way.

You all do realize this is a made-up story in the first place right?

It's not real.

:obama: not a bad theory
