Orly so what signifigance is this flashback showing.
even tho uchiha nikkas act like a bunch of emotional females..dem nikkas know how to pack heat..and you're right the story has gone down hill but i fu with this historical background ish..naruto has alot of history and it would be shame if kishi didn;t elaborate
c/sI just wish he didn't do these history bits in the middle of major battles...I'd take a bunch of Gaidens in a heart beat (each Hokage, Kakashi's pops, Mist Swordsmen, etc.) but right now...Kage's are on the verge of death, the ten tails is unleashed and the OG Uchiha mastermind is fighting every shinobi there is...
Rereading this again, in two weeks Kishi has given us not only one of the best fights in the entire series, but now one of the most thought provoking chapters of the series, probably the best since Pain and Naruto's discussion about peace, justice, and the village system. Tobirama appears to be the brains behind the very system that they are talking about. this is really good.
I think where Tobirama(and the system) went wrong, is by so easily dismissing the human aspect of everything. When you ignore that, and allow the ugly side of what will have to be done to ensure order and "peace" to fester...you end up with people like Nagato and Sasuke. Also the part about "rules"...reminds me of when Obito called Kakashi trash for not wanting to save Rin during Kakashi Gaiden. And the whole chapter pretty much addresses something that I've wanted to see Kishimoto discuss in the series for a long time: the fact that these villages use 12 year olds as weapons for war.
The whole system is just foul as hell, but for most part the series avoided showing the whole picture. It's just like Kishimoto built up the hype of Naruto, Sasuke, and their classmates...and then goes on to say "....is this is what you enjoy seeing? A bunch of child soldiers being trained to kill and getting killed? You're all a bunch of sick fukks" :lol:tu
When you see the discussion between Hashirama and his belligerent father, it makes me think back to when Naruto met his father. The first thing that he did was punch him in the stomach, for what he did to him.
Not bad at all :tu I think that this will spin back around towards how Naruto(and I think Sasuke) will come to find an answer to Pain's question.
yo very good analysis...naruto stay underrated in the message deparment..most people think its just some other shounen manga like bleach and all they want to see is new jutsues etc. but when one piece excels at showing the importance of friendship..naruto exploring issues of war, child soldiers , race , the validity of autority, machevalian political schemes (is it worth killing a whole race if they are a threat to national security) etcc
Nah, I feel like Naruto and every other Shonen Jump manga is very juvenile when it comes to being "deep".
I've always maintained that while Naruto has complex themes, the execution falls very short and almost makes the inclusion of said complex themes a hindrance. The worst might be how Kishimoto decides to conclude a theme, a hilariously simplistic and optimistic ending where everybody (even villains) wins, which isn't too surprising given that it's in Shonen Jump.
I've always thought it was fukked up how they were teaching kids how to kill and shyt during the Chunin exams etc.
