A lot of the post 2016 white working class think pieces center on assuaging white fears and even rationalizing them. I have seen a lot of sentiment from the left and the right about identity politics that effectively equates calling out racism with actual racism itself. It's like there is a belief that racism is a binary; either they are Grand wizards, Mississippi burning types or they are not. It is the reason that the voters he describes do not fall under the racist category because they are not explicitly doing the things that white people associate with racists which are the outward displays of bigotry. Was Gillum honestly a good candidate? I can without a doubt say Abrams had all of the qualities of a good candidate and her performance in red ass Georgia seals it. .With Gillum I was little .
