Super Bad re-spawned the raunchy frat boy humor, that prob hadn't been seen since Nerds. Animal House was the blueprint for Nerds, Meatballs...

Actually, a lot of these came in waves.
Psycho was slasher, but the genre didn't take off until the 70s. Revitalized in mid-90s.

Night of the Living Dead but it really were the sequels that kept it afloat.

Home Alone got all of the kids-outsmarting adults of the early 90s.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
So your argument is the manner in which the movie was produced versus content?
I'm thinking that's his argument really. But I'll go in with him on that. We've had movies about the ghetto since the 70s. With black actors, black writers, black directors. But have a dude putting out his own movies and starring in them and......... Well maybe you can say Dolemite did that. But the copycats came after P. Everybody all the sudden was shooting a movie and putting it out their media company or whatever. Every label had a movie with their rappers. And it was always that same hood story that P did.

Ironman... Sparked the formula for every goddamn origin story of every Marvel movie.
Batman Begins... Sparked the dark, gritty formula for every goddamn DC movie.

I know it seems like an easy thing to do.. But being the first to take it there and then have every single person after say "Let's just do it like them"..... That's hard to do. You don't see campy shyt no more in DC. You don't see unique story telling in Marvel. The first success they had, they just kept it the same from then on out

Rashomon - Got a whole effect or way of cinema storytelling named after it. Kurosawa will never get the proper praise he deserves for how much he fathered in the film industry.

I can't believe it took two pages for someone to post this. Every animal on God's green Earth had it out for humanity after Jaws came out.

Alien.
Dawn of the Dead was even more influential than NotLD in this respect.
The Road Warrior. It came after Mad Max, but every post-apocalyptic action movie has followed its lead.
I would say Shaft spawned the most imitators out of all the blaxploitation movies.
