Which spawned: Date Movie, Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, Extreme Movie, Spanish Movie, Meet The Spartans etc.

Immedietly after that every action movie had people dressing in all black leather like wesley snipes.
The Matrix and X-men for example along with all the other b movies clones.
Plus it spawned the modern superhero movie genre that we are today.

i dont know if "copycat" is the right word but it was the first Hollywood movie to use a bunch of techniques that would influence movies in the lat 60s and early 70s like jump cuts and radical tonal shifts. also very influential for showing bloody gunfights

That shyt came out in 85 raiders was released in 81

There's a B&W Quartermain movie, and one from the 50's (King Solomon's Mines films), the character's been around since the 1800s. But Indy can be considered the template for Romancing the Stone/Jewel of the Nile.

I know he came before Indiana jones and they cited the original character as an influence but i had heard they only deliberately tried to mimic and spoof raiders when they made the 85 king solomons mines
