Abstinence is an abstaining from sexual activity in general thing

So yes, before marriage, abstinent people abstain from sex. Which means they are celibate.
But they also abstain from all other things sex related, ie watching porn.

But celibacy just means they aren't having sex.

Most people try celibacy for a time. No one really is abstinate from all sexual activity. Unless they're super religious.
