whoa monica's world doesn't stop because quincy is having family problems. she still has a responsibility to herself, her scholarship, teammates, and the school. he should have understood that she was being supportive but duty called; so just go to the game the next day & chop it up with her afterwards
and i understand being crushed by his father's cheating, i mean he done had a baby outside the family. but getting mad and declaring for the draft because of it was irrational. ruined his career behind that
it wasn't irrational, he didn't want to be taking his dad's advice, the man who proved to be a sham. he was good enough to make the league, but not developed enough to become a star...furthermore what fueled his love of ball most was wanting to follow in his dad's footsteps, dude said he really didn't care that he had to give it up, dude's heart wasn't in ball no more anyway, might as well get his money.
as for monica, you get suspended for one game, not kicked off the team, for not making curfew. i get her making the choice she made, but she showed him that hooping >>> him. what's missing one game to support the person you love whose world was just shattered? she's a frosh female hooper in a pre-WNBA world, it's not like one missed game comes with lasting career implications
women back then were 4-5 year athletes, even today most are 3-4...like what the fukk was the rush?
