Haven’t watched in like 20 years but it didnt hit or feel memorable like that...worth another shot?

i mean... to me it's Bruce Willis best action role because it's a more refined John McClane. He's even more of an everyday man loser/alcoholic and plays the scumbag detective role spectacularly.

Damon Wayans puts in a great performance too.. not just comedy.. really good dramatic scenes. You watch him here and then wonder how he wasn't a HUGE movie star..

The script is just.. perfect. Hilarious.. witty dialogue. it's a top ten action movie of that era in my view.

Yes the plot is a little out there but the movie actually predicted the future of sports and gambling in a lot of ways. :manny:

Chicago's South Shore
I rock with this list as a whole. Obviously some stuff in there I STILL have yet to see, but hope to change that in the near future.

Pulp Fiction is my favorite film of all time. Saw it in the theater in my teens, even briefly made me want to become a filmmaker and screenwriter (never followed thru with that unfortunately), and made me appreciate cinema (all forms of it) as a whole.

Being a lifelong Chicagoan aside, I got into Ferris Bueller HELLA late in life. That, and Blues Brothers…but after finally watching both (with the latter becoming more of a fave of mine), I was like, “Okay, I get it” :ehh:

I really discovered that movie as a senior or junior in HS, and I really related to Cameron. He kind of felt like he was on his own in life, though he had a pretty good life situation. More than anything though; he had no fukkin idea what he wanted to do in life, and he was about to go to college. His best friend had it all figured out, and he didn't know anything going on in life and couldn't handle shyt. Meanwhile, Ferris has all the right moves, says all the right things, and takes risks. He's one of the most fun characters ever in movies. True legendary character.

Basically, I felt like Cameron, and wanted to be Ferris.

It is definitely Hughes' best movie, with only home alone and breakfast club coming close. It is the perfect runtime, and is incredibly rewatchable and easy to watch at any point when you catch it on tv. I watch it every year on my birthday and even go to a museum, annually, on my birthday.

EDIT: to the question though, what I like best is The museum scene going to Danke Shene / Twist and shout parade scene. Cameron literally says he doesn't like ANYTHING and he's about to go to college, and laughs about it. While his best friend just hops on a parade float and rocks downdown chicago lmao. 10/10.

Not really a FBDO fan, but I enjoy seeing ppl break movies/characters down like this

Blade Runner is a pile of shyt.
Whats funny is the first time I saw this in its entirety was November 2019, in a theater

I was faded, and immediately it starts

kUaYnP.gif

WASN'T READY FOR THAT :heh:

blade runner is awesome. I think its story is a bit overrated by its fanatics but it is an absolute technological and film making masterpiece. One of the best looking films ever and the story was pretty compelling and unique. It lasted the test of time. The shot in that gif alone was all practical effects which is crazy

I'll never understand the love for Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It's decent, sure and has 2-3 really good scenes but that's it. At no point am I invested in the character of Ferris Bueller because he's a shythead.

You've been hyped about the Barbie movie for like 7 years.

I mean, to each their own....

..but you've been hyped about the Barbie movie...for 7 years...that is something I'll never understand the love for :francis:
