My Soccer/Football brehs, why are there so many French-born/foreign-born African players?

Just noticed the surge of Euro-Africans in the last couple years.

You see a player with a FULL African name, assume they're from Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, etc. You look at their POB and turns out they're from France or Belgium.


Look at the French National Team,

France importing their talents from francophone Africa...

The after-effects of colonialism is real.


Shout outs to the African players that choose to play for their parent's country.

Are the likes of Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o , the Toure brothers, etc disappearing?
