If you want further clues on how Jackson may really feel about Anthony, Rosen’s piece all but trashes the veteran. Indeed, Anthony finally may miss being chosen for an All-Star Game, and certainly won’t be a starter, but Rosen went so overboard George Karl would be proud.

Rosen, the odds-on favorite to pen Jackson’s memoir of his Knicks presidential years, wrote Anthony’s “legs are going, going, almost gone. As ever, he’s still a dangerous scorer, but resists any offensive game plan that limits his one-on-one adventures.”

Rosen also wrote: “While he’s never been accused of playing defense, Anthony is intent on saving even more steps on this end of the game to conserve his energy for offense.” He added, Anthony “has been mostly shooting blanks in the clutch.”

And then the damning kicker: “The only sure thing is that Carmelo Anthony has outlived his usefulness in New York.”

:philjacksonlol::dead: Sounds like Phil is really done with Melo.

:philjacksonlol:They're saying that Rose/Melo could be moved.

:picard: And that GOATzingis isn't untouchable. nikka WHAT?!

In hindsight, Woodface actually took My Knickas to our last ECF:whoo::noah::mjcry:

2nd round, sugar t*ts. Just the 2nd round.

You know exactly what it means. We lost out on Lebron when he decided on Miami and had to settle for Melo. And ever since we've crucified Melo for looking after his bottom line, ie; what every other player does when they sign new contracts.

Come on. Melo carries all the cache of a superstar and gives you about half of that. It's a bad mix. Treat me like I'm the franchise but don't expect franchise type play. His name has far exceeded his production and he's finally getting called on it.

Time to take offers from every playoff team (doubt he'd waive the clause to go to an equally losing situation and teams in the lottery aren't about to move those picks) and just aim for the highest bidder with the least long term money coming back. Sounds like Melo is finally coming around to waiving the clause and with Lance hurt, maybe Phil sees the need to go rebuild heavy. With the big contracts, it's always gonna be easier to move these cats in the offseason but gotta see what you can get to lock up a top 10 pick now. This team just ain't got it.

I wonder what other pieces are grabbing interest around the league...prolly only the guys we'd rather keep.

If Melo waives his no trade and agrees to a trade to a certain team can Phil back out and send him somewhere else without his permission or is that illegal?

The hostility these last few days has been disgusting. I really hope we trade Melo and he goes somewhere(hoping the cavs) and he shows he still has it so dudes will have egg on their face.

I mean you can want the guy gone but shyt some of the stuff people saying is embarrassing.

Exactly how I feel.

What do you expect from Melo exactly? You guys want him to be 1st team all NBA defense when he's not that, he's been a top 5/top 8 offensive player up until last season and our best player, it's not his fault Amare couldn't stay healthy and Tyson Chandler couldn't score to save his life. I don't understand what you mean by "finally," people been shytting on Melo ever since he came here. He hasn't been injury prone during his time here and has carried the load by a large margin and gets nothing but heat for it. Like I said I do believe it's time to move on and if he OK's a trade, great, but the hate he gets is OD. He doesn't deserve even half of it.

He's been an inefficient player virtually his entire career, but has been given the green light to shoot as much as he wants without doing anything else at a really high level. Bad defender, average rebounder and not a good passer. He's just not that good but carries the cache of someone who is. He's not a guy that I'd build around ever.

His game may not be to your liking, but to say that he's "not that good" is just dishonest.
