It's honestly shocking that a team would build around him as their main guy, and would continue doing it when he's 33 years old. Kobe was coming off back to back titles when he got his deal, Melo was coming off back to back playoff misses and they locked him up like he was going to carry them to a chip.

At least Bean would get road crowds to fill the building and gave maximum effort even if his body wasn't willing, this dude just coasts on defense and only tries on offense. He not waiving that NTC, Phil must have been off that shyt when he gave him that.

It's Dolan. He loves Melo and like he was with Isiah he's fiercely loyal to the wrong people

Don't think Phil had a choice

How you gonna blame the player for contract and not the gm that gave it to him. I thought dolan gave phil complete control.

Why wont they just buy melo out or trade him shyt is simple as fukk. But supposedly he is holding the franchise hostage.

Trust me I want Melo to leave. He needs better than yall franchise

I'm still of the belief that the Melo contract and NTC was a Dolan/Mills decision, and not Phil's. Once that happened, Phil kinda/sorta gave up on his idea of the team being a real competitor or building a solid foundation during his tenure because he didn't want Melo here long-term. You could see it in his quotes and interviews with his comments back then.

Impossible to trade bc of the no trade and he has no interest in leaving.

No team is trading for Melo unless it's the kings or something. If they do trade him, they're not getting good value at all but then again Melo leaving for nothing might be value.

Exactly. That summer before they signed Melo every comment he made was basically antagonizing Melo and dating him to sign with another team

All the Knicks had to do was pay Melo a dollar more than what the Bulls were allegedly offering and obviously dont throw in the NTC(dumbest thing we've done ever) and he'd still be here and we'd have the ability to move him. They bid against themselves because of some under the table agreement between Melo, CAA and Dolan.

Resigning him was stupid but giving him basically part ownership of the team was absurd.

Bullshyt Melo had 30 11 and 7 last week and had 28, 10 and 6 right after and had 15 points in the third. Stop acting like a team wouldn't want Melo. Stop trolling. Melo aint perfect but than fanbase blame dude for everything. nikkas blamed him for rose not showing up to the game. I just want him to leave Ny for he end up like marbury
