The way he turned "Bully Melo" on Paul George. They had to take PG off him and put young on him.

Melo with the catch and shoot. I loved it during the Olympics and I love it now. The problem is, when D. Rose has the ball, Melo isn't moving.
I need Melo to mimic Justin Holiday and use a Noah or O'Quinn screen atleast 2 times per possession when we don't have a high post play call for him. He'd eat or atleast dismantle the defense completely. Think about it, what defense is actually ready for a mobile Melo to attempt to work around screens? That would be Porzingis alley oops all day because of the confusion.
We need Rose. Or, as I said when Rose was acquired, we need Rose to be the brochure for future star PGs to see how successful they could be playing w/ Porzingis and a catch and shoot Melo.
I'd love a Jennings/Rose backcourt that does a back-to-back penetration ending in a contact layup for the foul or a kick out to Melo or Porzingis with O'quinn ready for the Offensive board.
I could see Breen now:
"Jennings brings it up the court, a pick by Porzingis and Jennigs drives for the lay...NO, he passes it out to Rose who just drives into the lane and puts up...WAIT NO, Rose kics it out to Porzingis for the straight away 3...HE GOT IT! His finishing is poor (56% at rim) and he's mostly a high post guy
He played really well last night but if we're talking inside outside scorers that's KD all day...
What would Tony Allen do for this team's defense?

KD isn't an inside guy. His inside points comes from slashing to the basket, not with it starting with his back to the basket

Nah breh, KD points per possession in the post been elite for awhile. KD is much better inside than Melo more explosiveness, quickness, and length whether he's taking you to the rack off the dribble, cutting, running in transition, spinning out the post, etc.
He was 70 of 115, 61%, 1.23 points per possession out the post last season.

If Memphis saw more good than bad in Lance Thomas, they'd be able to lock up a guy who will be making 7 mill up until 2020.
Honestly, I'd want a second round pick to trade Lance Thomas straight up for Tony.
Again, only because Memphis would be able to reboot with youth.
Considering how Holiday has been playing, we'd be able to transition Holiday to the 3 off the bench.
We'd have our usual starting line up and then have Jennings, Tony Allen, Holiday, and Kuzminskas/Oquinn sharing the 4 and Hernangomez and O'Quinn sharing the 5.

Why am I seeing Melo and KD discussion in a Knicks thread?
Because Melo's primarily a jumper shooter. over 82% (418/507) of his shot attempts are jump shots. That's why he's getting to the line less frequently and it doesn't help that he's such a subpar finisher in the restricted area (54.5%).
