He's on an expiring contract. He's making only $5mill this year. We'd basically be renting him.

If Memphis saw more good than bad in Lance Thomas, they'd be able to lock up a guy who will be making 7 mill up until 2020.

Honestly, I'd want a second round pick to trade Lance Thomas straight up for Tony.

Again, only because Memphis would be able to reboot with youth.

Considering how Holiday has been playing, we'd be able to transition Holiday to the 3 off the bench.

We'd have our usual starting line up and then have Jennings, Tony Allen, Holiday, and Kuzminskas/Oquinn sharing the 4 and Hernangomez and O'Quinn sharing the 5.
I'd love to have him but I think he's going to be coveted by many teams. Nobody wants bum ass Lance Thomas if only he showed some flashes of last year.

I could see Minny a young, struggling defensive squad trading a guy with potential like Shabazz Muhammad for him. TA definitely is a Thibs guy too.

The thing is... A team like Minny is not in the playoff hunt. It would be a wash for them to give up youth for a man they could resign in the summer.

I think the Clippers, Pacers, Knicks, Cavs, and Hawks might be trade partners.

Clips and Cavs to bolster their strong rosters.

And the Pacers, Knicks, and/or Hawks to really push the playoff issue and try to make some noise going in.

I do realize that Allen has been a big part of Memphis' success this year; you just wonder about whether Memphis management really feels that they have a chance.

I wouldn't give up a second round draft draft pick for him nor would I include Kuz or holiday. Nor would I trade Holiday straight up for him.

He would be an interesting boost to our defense, though.

Imagine the Knicks keeping a team below 60 points...at the half? :snoop:

What would Tony Allen do for this team's defense? :ld:

Just looking at Bleacher Report's list of players on the trading block.

I see.

By the way, where have you been at breh?

It was weird not hearing color commentary during the game last night.

Thoughts?

I've only been to catch about two and a quarter of Knicks games these past two weeks. Basically watching the box score and YouTube highlights. Still not a believer in this team, because of the team defense, but they've been exceeding my expectations so far. Only a four game difference between the 3rd and 12th seed in the Eastern Conference.

You clearly haven't watched giannis this season

I have, but I'm really sick of people doing this thing where they're quick to crown someone before it's time. Y'all did this Paul George and 2 years later, he's not even top 5? Giannis is a really good, and shows flashes of brilliance, but let him actually become brilliant before we crown him...

Happy to help!

It's a couple of factors:
  • Offensive rebounding is mainly crashing the glass, putting yourself around the rim, in a place where you can get to the ball if it comes off.KOQ does it Wily does it, Jo reallyu does it, KP, and even melo and rose at times -- also, somebody like KP has height/length, which is helpful when just trying to tip a ball back out to teammates. Offensive rebounding is a lot of effort, and willingness to get down there and bang. And when you have guys like Melo, KOQ, KP, jo - who are relentless - you're in position to do it.
  • Defensive rebounding is two factors:
    • Concentration and positioning - knowing where your man is when the shot goes up, putting a body on him, then turning and facing up, to chase the ball.
    • And really, Defense - The more shots the other team makes, the higher % they shoot, the fewer defensive rebounds EXIST to grab. You have to create misses, in order to rebound them.
So that's kind of where the problems are. The knicks don't really have the focus/positioning on defense to find a man, box him out, and then chase the boards AND they don't make the other team miss any fukking shots.

:salute:

Thx for the breakdown breh, makes total sense (sorry didn't answer earlier, I stay away from the thread on game days because I watch the game the following day)

Am I Crazy? Noah Isn't Worth His Contract But I Feel Like What He's Done Out There So Far Is What I Expected Of Him

He Brings Energy, He Rebounds And He Passes Well

He Does A Decent Job Of Cleaning Up Misses Around The Rim Too

I Think Its Been Good Having Him Around Kyle & KP As Well

If Someone Wants To Take His Contact I Wouldn't Hesitate, Just Sayin
