Breh people are just speculating. It's not that deep.lol I doubt CP3 is even leaving the Clippers, but I could be wrong. Like the poster you quoted said if he plays 70+games and yall make good playoff run. Why not resign him?

Its not a matter of resigning....

Its the length of the contract and the salary per year I was speaking on.......

A change of scenenary to a new city, a new team, and a easier conference would do wonders for paul:comeon:

Yeah, but time doesn't care about conferences. He'll be 32 THIS season.

Any team that signs him will be playing when he's 36, and paying him 25 million.

Think about that.

Time out... How many people in this thread said lock up Rose already?

A few...who had a valid point. Most people are speculating on the chance he plays 70+.

Even if he plays 70+ this season. It doesn't guarantee he'll play 70+ next year.

Rose's games played over the last five seasons, starting in 2011-12:

39, 0, 10, 51, 66

Betting that a guy like that is going to be healthy over the NEXT four years is ... optimistic at best.

There's not 6 teams who need a former MVP with loads of deep playoff experience who adds veteran leadership all at the age of 28?

Wolves Thibs might not let Rose play
Hawks Schroder is currently averaging 16/6 shooting 36% from 3
Pelicans Same stats as above, but this time from Jrue Holiday
Mavs Definitely, they need anyone
Kings Same as above, this team is trash
Jazz George Hill is balling out, and playing MUCH better than Rose right now.

Could all use a player like Rose right now

Wolves- would just draft a pg
Hawks- won't pay for him
Pelicans- should just draft a pg but who knows
Mavs- would just draft a pg
Kings- shouldn't but are so incompetent that who knows
Jazz- George Hill is playing really well for them I believe.

Y'all in here using logic and shyt like we haven't seen lesser players with just as bad of an injury history get bigger Deals. Be it from a rival trying to snatch someone away or a team over-offering to make another team pay more

Derrick Rose getting a 100 million dollar deal at this point wouldn't even be top 10 on a list of worst deals in league history.

Plus he's box office. Especially after a year of health playing in the largest media market in the world. He'll sell tickets.

It's not just basketball reasons for giving Rose a deal like that.

Someone will pay him. For sure.

Reading back a few pages and I'm seeing crazy shyt.

There is no way in hell do I think we should resigned rose till atleast end of the season. We still have a long way to go. If he can prove he can play about 70 games and make an impact during the playoffs. We definitely should consider signing him. But with that being said, I don't have a problem with giving him the money, I have a problem with giving him the yrs. I think 3/75-80 mil is doable but I know at this stage of career he is gonna want the security. So don't be surprised if someone maxes him out. I'm very torn on this decision.

As far as CP3 is concerned, if by a miracle chance he is interested in coming to NY. Then I would feel much safer giving him the yrs and money. His style of play will be consistent for the next 4-5yrs easily. He might not be the same defender but he is still an elite PG.

But we also gotta consider our future, there are very good free agents out there we might be able to pair with KP, maybe even letting rose and cp3 go and signing blake and going after john wall the following season. This noah contract will haunt us and I don't want more aging superstars hurting our future.

Man offering Rose any kind of extension before the offseason should make yall go fade Phil in his office

It is okay to see what the market is willing to bear. And lets say other GM's lose their mind and offer Derrick big numbers its also more than okay to walk away from that too.

There is nothing wrong with flexibility....something the Knicks have sorely needed for a while.

I want to know which GM is at this moment burning to add Rose to their roster.....I would bet no one in this thread could name 6 teams that need a Rose type player at the point....
Y'all sleep
