I been reading the comments over the last few pages....

I am surprised you guys are already willing to throw big money and "lock up" rose already.....

I just dont see why.....there is so much basketball left to play...

I saw somebody say its a slap in the face to offer him 18 mil

:dwillhuh::dwillhuh:

First of all you dont start high in negotiations...you start lower and go higher if need be...

Second you shouldnt be offering long term deals anyway unless its Porzingis.

:what:
if chris paul wants to come here we welcome him here with open arms
lets not overvalue what we have
i love rose so far but hes scoring pg averaging 4 assists a game
paul would be a perfect compliment to melo and kp
dude just had a 20 assist game with 0 turnovers:what:

how is he on his last leg:what:

Nah man, I'm good off the old knicks way of doing things....being the bytch for older stars in their twilight years to take advantage of. Who cares if he had a good game recently? He hasn't seen a conference finals his entire career. I'm not even saying we should extend Rose, let's just support him now and make a shrewd and logical decision when the time comes. If he's cool with what we offer him, bet. If not, nice knowing you. It's bad enough the knicks paid Noah to be a cheerleader, I want that to be the last bad contract they give out based off a name.

I feel like im in a battered realtionship. I love my Knicks but i know it can go wrong at any moment. Currently in 3rd in a tight East. Got some very winnable games on this current stretch. We are playing good ball right now. Hopefully we can sustain it.

It's unlikely, but Knicks could try to get Drose to sign for less and try to get CP3 there. Having CP3 at PG and Rose SG could be a dangerous combination. We see how well Rose plays alongside Jennings, imagine what he could do with CP3.

I don't think we would have enough cap space to pull that off unless we get rid of Melo. CP3 is gonna command $20 mil+ and rose would want around the same. Melo is getting that much now, and Noahs contract ( :francis:) is a lot too. Plus we would have to/should want to retain Jennings. And Porzi would be coming off is rookie deal too and according to the new bargaining agreement, he's gonna get paid early (I'm assuming). But that possibility of those 2 in the backcourt would be :wow:

A change of scenenary to a new city, a new team, and a easier conference would do wonders for paul:comeon:
Plus melo and kp are clutch players
Something paul has had trouble with at times and has no one on the clippers to help him in dat department
His game has aged very welland 31 isnt even old:dwillhuh:
Plus hes the type to not pass the ball to melo if hes gettin out of hand with the iso stuff.
If its fukk rose and its fukk paul
Who do u want as our pg:dwillhuh:
U wildin lol

Time out... How many people in this thread said lock up Rose already?

A few...who had a valid point. Most people are speculating on the chance he plays 70+.

Man offering Rose any kind of extension before the offseason should make yall go fade Phil in his office

It is okay to see what the market is willing to bear. And lets say other GM's lose their mind and offer Derrick big numbers its also more than okay to walk away from that too.

There is nothing wrong with flexibility....something the Knicks have sorely needed for a while.

I want to know which GM is at this moment burning to add Rose to their roster.....I would bet no one in this thread could name 6 teams that need a Rose type player at the point....

Breh people are just speculating. It's not that deep.lol I doubt CP3 is even leaving the Clippers, but I could be wrong. Like the poster you quoted said if he plays 70+games and yall make good playoff run. Why not resign him?

There's not 6 teams who need a former MVP with loads of deep playoff experience who adds veteran leadership all at the age of 28?

Wolves
Hawks
Pelicans
Mavs
Kings
Jazz

Could all use a player like Rose right now

They need to find a way to get rid of Noah. Sad to say, but he barely contributes anything to the team.

stop right there......NO....just NO breh

Utah has George Hill.....they dont need Rose

Wolves- Rose is undoubtedly better than Rubio..They also have Thibs as coach...them motherfukkers are not even remotely pairing that Rose-Thibs combo again

Mavs- eh maybe but I highly doubt Cuban is going to break bread for Rose based on how he deal with Parsons

Kings.....LMAO if the kings wanna pay him let both him and them take that deal

Pelicans already have one injury prone guy in Davis....they are gonna belly up for one in Rose now too? Hey stranger things have happened.

The Hawks just shipped out teague who has far more tangible playoff experience than Rose.

So no I would find it very unlikely that any of those teams are currently chomping at the bit to pay Derrick Rose...... And if they want to bid high salary numbers y'all really feel compelled to match it?
