Interesting how the Knicks, if they make it to the playoffs, have 3 players who could offensively keep us in most series on any given night.

Clearly, defense is still very "glass jaw" right now, though.

I'm excited to see these guys in the 'offs.

I'm interested in an answer to this as well. I really want BOTH Rose & Jennings back on this team next year.

If Rose plays 70+ games and really turns it on during the playoffs... I want to give him something in the ball park of 23 mill per year.

I see him garnering WAY more from other teams. I could see him really enjoying himself in NY to take a reasonable deal to stay, though.

Either way, I'm enjoying his time as a Knick so much.

i think if we extend it works out to 3 years 75 mil
dats a steal considering whats going on nowadays
if he becomes a full free agent we looking at a 4 or 5 year contract close to the max
3 year fits well with the plan of the team because melo noah and (if we sign him) rose would all be finishing their contracts around the same time and KP should be entering his prime

unless we have a legit shot at chris paul (and if clippers lose again, i think its a real possibility)
rose might be our best bet

I'm surprised to see so many in this thread are still pro-CP3. Yall talk all that shyt about Melo will be past his prime by the time KP hits his...but 32 year old Chris Paul is the answer?? I like CP3. But even with age not withstanding, he's not going to move the needle that much with this team. He doesn't put us on par with the Cavs. The Clippers have everything a championship team needs and they can't even get to the conference finals. I know it's the west. So what? This is only the 3rd year GS has been elite. The Clips have had their chances. What is a core of Melo-CP3-KP gonna do?
I'll take my chances with Rose if he stays healthy. Jennings has been feening to play for NY since he came in the league so hopefully he comes back too. Somebody might offer more $ and a starting position tho. You ask me he's found his niche with this team. Energizer lead guard off the bench. Highly effective in limited minutes. 35+ mins a night for BJ? And if his wild ass is my starter, what's my back up looking like??

Rose and Jennings complement each other well, playing together or separately. You have your attacker, bucket getter in Rose. Your playmaker in BJ. We could have worse problems. We could be starting Calderon and Vujacic with Langston Galloway backing up both! Oh...that was last year

From January till May,

New York's marketing and PR team need to get both Jennings and Rose into as much commercials, billboards, NY exposure as possible.

This isn't 1999 anymore and the internet is the biggest mover regarding recognizability but you have to try everything to create a story wonderful enough to make both willing to sacrifice a couple mill for the millions they may recoup in exposure.

They also need to get NY fans involved in very unique "Chicago Cubs" like loyalty exposition.

I don't know how much they are in tune w/ fans but let them see fans who worship New York's "New Explosive Knickerbocker Backcourt".

you dont have to extend rose before the end of the contract....

There is nothing wrong with letting him play a full season and seeing how the chips fall...

Rose is coming off a pattern of injury and games missed.....and if we keep it real has even had wildly variable production thus far(been good the last few I fully acknowledge that).

Extending him before you even reach the playoffs is FOOLISH.....

My guess is that even if Rose has a good run from now till the end of the season and you win a round or two in the playoffs that teams will still be of two minds whether to risk big money on him.....

Point guard position is deep in the league

Wait....see how things play out and offer him something suitable......

I agree with this. Realistically, who is gonna give him what he wants anyway? Any team that needs to upgrade the pg position is gonna be bad enough to draft one of those great prospects. Rose might be stuck.
