I don't remember there being so many reactionary posters in Knick threads.......most chaotic Knick season thread maybe ever
The Season Bargnani first came was worst imo.

These Phil interview are typical, I'm used to them by now. Phil didn't even say anything too bad about Melo, he praised him more than anything. ESPN threw "ball hog" into the title even though Phil didn't say anything of the sort, it's just sensationalist garbage by ESPN.

I really hate the criticism Phil gets on here. Dude has more clout than most people involved with the NBA ever and gets thrown in the bushes and his thoughts get dismissed as crazy talk. Their is a method to his madness and we've been doing nothing but improving since he arrived. All you I can't can't for Phil leave cats need to relax. We gon fukk around and end up with a piece shyt gm and y'all gon be clamoring for Phil to return.

For the record, here is the full interview with Phil Jackson talking about Melo, and other things.

Phil didn't even call him a ball hog. He wants Melo to make decisions faster and implies that he could be Jordan/Kobe for the Knicks doing so...that's high praise and also unrealistically optimistic. But the story is that he's calling dude a ball hog. Shout out to Phil giving props to Melo's growth defensively also.

Honestly what other team president criticizes other teams players and then his own randomly...Its not a good look for the Knicks.

Riley for years and years and years.

Popvich who is coach and shares president/gm responsibilities with the front office also.

They have been pretty successful. :yeshrug:

Most of yall criticizing Phil about the "ball hog" gate are looking a little funny in the light, especially considering the statement in context.

Let's handle it simply:

Imagine being a Democrat politician and a high ranking well respected member of the JFK administration states that you could be fit right into the mold of the next JFK?

Imagine being a Republican politician and the NationalReview.com or a major conservative mind says you have the ability to be the party's next Reagan?

Now imagine 11 Ring wearing Championship of Jordan/Kobe stating that you can actually fit the role that Jordan and Kobe did with some adjustment?:lupe:

This is so overblown and, honestly, shyt was a fukking compliment. Phil says what the fukk HE wants to say. I don't like the guy much but I'm not going to associate a fault that he hasn't exhibited.

He sees the world the way he wants to see it, and regardless if I agree with dude, and regardless if he's wrong or not, he believes what he's saying. Think about what that actually means for his view on Melo.:mindblown:

The saddest part? The instigation, the media response, and the trolls have Melo seeing it the wrong way, too.:stopitslime:

Last year, a ref derailed this dude...:snoop:

This year, it may be a fukking comment that was lost in translation by the sports world. Great. :why:

Whether it's new or not...

The hoopla surrounding the bullshyt affecting a player's focus isn't new, either. I want my Knickerbockers out there not thinking about anything but that 48 minutes, at all times.

I tend to believe Melo shrugs it off on some grown man shyt as he loves to quote, "It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it" by Aristotle.

I'm happy he's a Knick. :salute:

Melo will be fine, he almost walked out the interview when they asked him. He doesn't seem like the type to be mentally fragile.

What phil said is something i would expect him to say when hes out drinkin with his buddies or in a private coaches meetin

Name me another president on any team that talks about his star player the way phil does pubicly. hes been doin this shyt for 3 years lol The media twistin his word shyt is not a excuse, hes smart enough to know what it was gonna turn into.

Why was he doin the interview in the first place:what:

He loves attention too much. and continues to throw out his opinion when no one is askin him.

Just seems likes hes trollin and creating material for his new book that he will inevitable release on his time with the knicks.
