IDGAF.....giving up 130 points and getting blown out is not a good look...even if it's preseason. Especially not with the excuses I'm hearing: No scouting, no defensive gameplan, guys are rusty. I don't wanna hear that the new coach isn't prepared. I don't care where we are on the schedule. I don't wanna hear that rusty shyt, guys are getting used to playing together BS. Haven't these mofo's been getting together since summer? Working out in Puerto Rico and shyt? I'm not looking forward to another season of the usual rhetoric: "guys will figure it out, it's a long season, guys are trying to figure out the triangle". "Guys" better learn to defend the 3 point line and hustle. I'ma be patient. Temporarily.

I'm so glad the Knicks scrapped Posting up Porzingis. He can shoot over anyone any time he wants.

I think Jennings and Rose will shake off the rust as they continue to play more.
KP has a post game though and I think if a switch happens to a favorable matchup they should try if it's an easy bucket:manny:I don't disagree he can shoot over anyone though I just hope he doesn't get phased out and ignored like last season :scust:

Melo played good d last year. This the damn presason breh relax

Not really. He's at best an average defender. Melo's much better suited to guard fours than guard quicker wings. Better post defender than perimeter defender. They're both below average defensively. Bulls played much better defense with Rose off the floor. Kyrie and Melo tandem got destroyed on the floor during the Olympics.

Before he was hobbled by the ankle injury, Melo's advanced defensive metrics had him near the top of the SF defenders (below the elite cats but well into the above average group). If last year's Melo shows up, he's well above average at best and his low point falls closer to average than below. Rose was terrible defensively though, but not worse than Jose at least.

Missed the game, watched the highlights. Man, I'm just hoping we can stay moderately healthy because it seems all our key players have some kinda nagging injury concern. I'm nervous :hamster:

I don't give a fukk about advanced stats. It helps that he played in front of one of the rim protecting front courts. The year before that, he was listed as one of the worst defenders of the 3P line. It's only one year. We'll see if how he maintain them for another year. His strengths on defense and offense are best suited as a four.

This was my opinion on last nights game. Don't read too much into it.[/QUOTE]

Despite the bold proclamations in my initial posts, I wanna thank you for enlightening me that it's preseason. Powerful posting. :francis:

Advanced stats are how you figure out that he had a rim protecting front court to begin with and his defense being piss poor when he needed knee surgery really isn't the strongest case against him. I'm cool with the idea that he's better off defending PF's; but claiming he's "average at best" defending SF's is completely ignoring that he proved he can do better than that just last year.

Cats ignore stats whenever it doesn't benefit their argument. And some of ya'll need to chill, it's 1 preseason game. It's not even Halloween yet, and some of ya'll already started with the doom & gloom posting.
