The defense is horrid. No excuse for that but the revelation that Hornacek didn't really give them focused defensive assignments and the further comments by @storyteller have me still being optimistic.
Offensively, you know, we missed ALOT of shots but they were good shots that will fall during the season. I see promise.

Why do teams realize 'AFTER' the game that they weren't playing defense or 'focused'?
Would you not notice this when you are down by 10?
These types of post-game comments always ring hollow to me as just excuses for getting outplayed. I question this across all sports.
As for the Knicks, its early so we should not be overly concerned.
BUT, those bad habits borne from a losing culture need to be addressed immediately. Cease and Desist with that, not now...but right now.

I really liked what I seen from Porzingis. The kids gonna step his game up another level this year, all star Zingis 
I was really impressed with Harden, and I'm far from a fan of his. The Rockets were hitting a lot of shots with defense in their face, they were just on while the Knicks were missing wide open shots. So it wasn't defense that really stopped them. Rose looked good and healthy, youngins looked good, Willie in particular. Knicks have no interior defensive presence off the bench though, but I guess O'Quinn can fit that role to some extent, but still concerning imo.

IDGAF.....giving up 130 points and getting blown out is not a good look...even if it's preseason. Especially not with the excuses I'm hearing: No scouting, no defensive gameplan, guys are rusty. I don't wanna hear that the new coach isn't prepared. I don't care where we are on the schedule. I don't wanna hear that rusty shyt, guys are getting used to playing together BS. Haven't these mofo's been getting together since summer? Working out in Puerto Rico and shyt? I'm not looking forward to another season of the usual rhetoric: "guys will figure it out, it's a long season, guys are trying to figure out the triangle". "Guys" better learn to defend the 3 point line and hustle. I'ma be patient. Temporarily.

Hornacek already stated that he didn't have a defensive strategy for last night. And playing pickup in Puerto Rico is totally different than playing against another NBA team. It's only 1 game in preseason, it's not enough to gauge how well this team will be.
I have an issue with the bolded. And like I said, I don't care if it's preseason. How the hell don't you have a strategy? Did the Rockets have one? They must have! I'm a long suffering Knick fan and the last thing I wanna hear from the new coach is that he headed into a game with no strategy. I wouldn't care if he was talking about playing 2K17. Lie to me. Don't make me question whether ordering league pass to watch these dudes will be a waste. Again. I've had my fill of no plan guys like Fisher, Rambis, and Woody to a lesser extent.
Playing pickup builds chemistry. Regardless of the comp level.

I am not going to stress it a lot. Its the first game of preseason for what is essentially a whole new knicks team (again.....).
We have no idea what kind of metrics Hornecek wanted to see, or what kind of lineups they were testing.
With that said if they play like they did yesterday 10 games into the season..... then its a major red flag. No Noah or Not
