Shooting Guard in a PG's body. I've heard him say it was his role that limited his playmaking, but he just never showed PG skills to me. A 6'3 shooting guard with a small wingspan projects to being a poor defender pretty much by default. The question that I kept seeing was "if he's not scoring, what else can he give you" and no one had a solid answer. In terms of getting a shooter, I didn't see much of Dotson but everybody is saying he was one of the most slept on shooters in the draft. Shot a huge volume and hit 44% from three; so we did get a shooter, I'm just not sure how he projects in other areas. I assume they'll try to develop him into a three and D piece. Check this from nbadraft.net on Dotson

On another note, that Jaramaz kid looks interesting. 6'5, in his clips he looks like he can handle the rock really well (low dribble and doesn't lose speed with the ball in hand) plus he looks athletic. Those are highlight reels though, so I'll wait to get a real look at him in the summer league. Apparently he's supposed to play for one of the top defensive coaches in Europe next year, so draft and stash value is there.

Add Kornet on a two-way contract (idk...he can shoot and he's 7 feet tall so there's that but kid is soft) and Nigel Hayes is on our summer league team...we may end up with a nice haul.
:ehh:

How about Dennis Smith Jr?

I'm at the point that I believe the Knicks should just move Melo for picks. Do what the kings have done just now. Let the cavs keep Melo and Kevin Love. Just give us future picks...remember that might be a short term run by the cavs there.

fukk around and end up like the nets and we get those picks right up top after Cleveland returns to its old self :lolbron:

:russ: That's a dope idea.

I've got no hate for DSJ and I'd have been fine if we wound up with him. He has question marks though; I'm not convinced he's a two-way player. I was gonna be happy as long as we picked one of those two. I'd have been a bit more skeptical on Monk or reaching for Mitchell (though I like Mitchell, just not at 8).

They asked Carlisle if Frank was still on the board would it have been a hard decision who to take and he just laughed and said no

Mavs are doing cartwheels that we took Frank instead of DSJ

Good for them :gucci:

We got the guy we wanted for months, they got their guy, too.

Lol wtf you expect him to say?
We really wanted Frank because he's so vastly superior than the player we now have on our roster but those wily Knicks have a better scouting team than we do and got him first :sadbron::sadbron::sadbron::sadbron::sadbron::sadbron:

Swear down, some of these dudes are the worst. I can't believe people are shamelessly reciting all the same talking points about euro ballers versus random NCAA ballers after the success of the KP and MHG picks
