Funny enough Lee doesn't really make sense for Portland because they want to shed salary. If Lee is moved it may be for something else entirely like maybe Pick #12 from the Pistons who are seeking a quality vet.





Well this makes things more complicated. If the Known teams are out and Melo softens his trade destination request I could see Portland being a potential partner because they have the contracts on the books to match Melo's post trade kick contract (and a shyt load of picks this year). Lillard, McCollum, and Nurkic might be a strong enough of a core to attract Melo....



Miami has the space, some picks, and some youth. I don't think they are eyeing Melo (and vise versa) but they are still my dark horse Trade contenders.

It's bizarre how conflicting the rumors are.
Knicks want Reddikk...Knicks want Rubio...Knicks looking to eat salary for Portland's pick (and the rumor is Harkless who I like as a target). Knicks scouting midround players as they chase a second first round pick.

On one hand are some win-nowish moves and on the other are clear rebuild moves. I can't make heads or tails any more but I hope the Portland one is the real and if it only takes Lee to acquire Rubio, I'd do that too. He'd really be helpful for KP and Willy's development and looks.

Did some CBA reading and saw the above. So Mo Harkless would have to agree to go where they trade him if it happens before July. That might give NY ithe inside track wince we're his home town. Also they can't move Crabbe unless he agrees to it and he could not be traded to the Nyets at all within that year period because they signed him to a offer last summer.

I would love for Melo to go to the cavs so he finally has a chance to play for a ring. But what could the cavs possibly offer us for melo?

I don't think they are gonna get rid of love for him, obviously they are not getting rid of kyrie or lebron.

And I don't want draft picks from them, they will clearly be the 31st pick for the next few yrs and melo is still worth a top 10 pick at the least. It would be nice to get a couple of expiring contracts for melo. But I would prefer a top 10 pick for melo.

You are missing the bigger picture here. Dropping Melo ends the era and it is time to start fresh with a clean slate. What we get in return is not something we should focus on. A few late round picks is all that it should take.

What are the clippers going to give us in return? Role players? That is not what the knicks should be looking to add.

I would be happy with taking the clippers 2020, 2021 first round picks. By that time, clips will be garbage and in the lottery. I'm thinking long term more so than tomorrow if we trade melo

Either move I don't care. We just need to get this move done around draft time for it to make sense. Going into next season with Melo on the roster would be a disastrous way to start the season.

I agree, one way or the other we need to figure out a way to move melo before the season starts.
