Phil would never draft him anyway
Yes. I'm not passing on a NY kid with that athletic ability. He's just testing the waters and may pull out and play for Kentucky next year though.Would u pick him at 7?

Brehs, NYC's own Hamidou Diallo declared for the draft after a redshirt season at Kentucky

Facts.
He wants a Euro team, we taking Ntilikina.
Facts bro this team has no ny swag/edge toughness..call me crazy but bring isiah back and just put a clause in his contract where he cant trade 1st round picks..the knicks the last few years just turned me off with the phil triangle dysfunction atleast the stephon marbury years i never stopped rooting for them and always watched

Yea we need to buy that 1st and get courtney lee outta here..i just hope we can move on from the melo era and move him on draft night for a 1st rounder and salary match just to move on
College is overrated. Also, he's been practicing with Kentucky all semester. The NBA will prepare him for the NBA better than anything. Pick the highest upside player and highest level athlete and develop him. It might be a bit of a reach at 7 but I'm telling y'all he will destroy the combine athletically and was a sure fire one-and-done lottery pick for Kentucky next year in a strong class. To me at that 7 spot the highest upside guys are Diallo and Isaac.
Nah breh, also Diallo is likely not gonna break mid first round. Earliest I could see someone take a flyer is Charlotte at #11and I would be surprised by that. He hasn't played college competition and will likely need a year just practicing his shot and getting acclimated to a higher level of competition and I say that as a big believer the Knicks should do what they need to do to get a second first rounder and grab him.
He's the definition of high risk/high reward player and I don't think the Knicks need to take that risk on a guy at #7 who hasn't matched up for a season of college level comp

I'd love to get a second first and get him.
Nobody thought Thon Maker would got lottery, nobody thought he could play at this level. Look at his per 36's and the impact he's had defensively starting in the playoffs for Milwaukee. Going forward he's going to be their starter as early as next season. Everybody thought we reached on KP and they said he was too skinny to be a contributor in year one, dude was damn near RoY.
He must have fell because of poor outside shooting in the Nike EYBL and being an older freshman redshirt, I saw mocks last year that had him in the top 5 and some other mocks still have him in the lottery for next year. What mock are you looking at? DraftExpress has him at 22 and NBADraft.Net has him at 14 for next year. I think he's intriguing and worth a serious look this year if we land a second pick. I trust Cal's judgement in recruitment.Maybe in a weaker draft than this years but just to put how competitive this year's class is the best player on the National Championship team Justin Jackson is going 14..... if he's lucky. There are a lot of skilled guys in the top 10 to the point I am pretty sure Miles Bridges did another year of college just to ensure he got drafted top 10 cause there was a legit chance he would slide out and he played great last year. Guys who are All Americans are going just outside the lottery.
Diallo is mocked at 26 for next years weaker draft. I am not saying the potential isn't there but he would have to be insanely impressive to get taken in the lottery let alone top 10. Also KP was always a top pick his draft year. Most mocks had him going #5 to Orlando because the year prior (2014) Orlando had offered to take him at 13 if he had declared earlier. I think the knicks should do the same for Diallo. They likely got the assets to get into the first round, if they like Diallo get him with a second first round pick and then send him to the D league and let him work on his game.
