I wonder if the Knicks trade Melo to the Clippers could they then get a Sign and Trade Blake in return and then ship him to the Celtics for this years Nyets Pick?

Like the Clippers want to keep their "core" but they won 2 games in that series without Blake and seem to be prioritizing CP3.

On the flip Blake is the perfect PF to slot next to Horford at C based on his skill set,

Horford
Blake
Crowder
Avery
IT

is a legit contending team.

If they make it to the ECF and get stopped by Lebron, I could see them making a trade like that to get over the hump.

At least some good fukking news.

I imagine, we're hoping they don't sign any big free agents and move forward with as proper a rebuild process that we can.

If signing our youth means not being able to make a foolish long term big signing...:feedme:

I have a feeling that cap space is going to be taken resigning youth, players coming in from the Melo trade, and the knicks taking on a contract for a pick.

Also thought I should post this

Reddikk being the basis of the trade seems a bit far fetched when you look at the Cap situations of both teams.

I would not be surprised if the knicks get (and eventually move) blake in a sign and trade. Only players wanting that supermax but to play on another team would likely go through the trouble.

I want that Clippers '21 pick if a trade to the Clippers has to happen. If Phil lands Blake somehow (unlikely imo) he's gonna keep him and I don't want that. I know that '21 pick is a long ways away, but when it ends up a top 5 pick we'll be looking back like "Good job Phil:yes:".

My dream scenario..... we finally get a little luck and get both:banderas:Like for once the knicks aren't the desperate ones. We're the ones shipping out to the desperate team.

and then Phil does the smart thing and moved Blake immediately so we can continue to rebuild around KP:ohlawd:

I'd also add multiple future first/second round draft swaps and/or seconds too while we're at it. :lolbron:

Fun Quotes.....

ill Laimbeer is back again as head coach, forming a marquee tandem with his former “Bad Boy” Piston teammate. Thomas, the former Knicks president, made no bones about having coaching input.

“Everyone around here will tell you Laimbeer and I fight every day,’’ Thomas said, grinning. “We’ve been fighting since the day we met. It’s a great working relationship. We’ve had it for 30 years.”

Laimbeer likes Isiah’s input — to a point.

“I listen to him a lot — sometimes it goes in one ear and out the other,’’ Laimbeer said. “He’s not the dictator. He’s my boss and another basketball mind. He’s not overbearing. He gets out of the way. He knows his place. That’s a great thing. Some people don’t know their place, jump in. … A coach wants to do a certain style of play. Coaches lives and die [with] who they are.”

It’s unclear if that was a shot at the Phil Jackson-Jeff Hornacek pairing. But ironically, Laimbeer revealed he will run more of Jackson’s triangle this season after experimenting with it in 2016. Laimbeer spent two years on Kurt Rambis’ staff with the Timberwolves, so he’s well-versed.

That doesn't sound like a planned Coup coming in about 2 years...... not at all......:francis:

Laimbeer is actually a great WNBA coach..... but Isiah.......:pacspit:

Do other teams sports reporters leak their GM's scouting players before the draft:snoop:

fukking Berman:scust:

I've said this before on the low a lot of teams respect the knicks scouting staff.... I expect Frank to get a draft bounce if these stories keep coming out.
