I like seeing the kids really get after it but right now I'm wondering if Robert Randolph's Friday Night curse will reverse and deliver a win that pushes us out of the top 4 picture

I agree with both of your takes, and even though both KCP and Otto have improved(Otto especially) I can't help but feel like they're both close to their ceilings, despite their age. I don't see any real "hidden gems" in this year's free agent class, but I wouldn't mind the Knicks going after guys like Shabazz Muhammad and Mike MuscalaI think Shabazz can be a starter in this league, and Mike would make for a nice backup 4( I know there are a lot of big men on the roster, but none of them are a true 4 really).

I don't think KCP is worth the investment, and I think OTTO gets matched no matter what. I'd be happy to have him, but we're probably better off looking for bargains/role players/guys with potential who are low risk gambles.

I think both cats depend on where we're drafting really. If we're grabbing one of the elite PG's (Fultz, Ball and to a slightly lesser extent Smith Jr); having KCP would make for a really dynamic backcourt. Otto fits as long as we don't grab Jackson or Tatum (I don't like Tatum though). But I agree, I think both cats get matched most likely. I was looking at the FA list and I don't see many exciting young cats, maybe Snell would be worth an offer. I like that dude's growth and he's expendable for the Bucks, so he should be had for a reasonable price. After that, I'd probably scour the trade market for cast aways that are victims of circumstance and timing rather than bad contracts.

Shabbazz isn't a bad idea, Muscala on a cheap back-up contract would be cool too (makes moving KOQ really damned necessary though). Those aren't bad suggestions.
