Anyone remember when I was talking about how Nurkic would probably be a cheap, promising big man to get a hold of? ...:mjcry:...I really wanted one of the Denver logjam. Nurkic, Willy, KOQ and not paying Noah woulda been fantastic.
I was at work watching that game last night, I'm not gonna lie I was a little jealous after a while:mjcry: Nurkic always had the talent, he just needed a different environment. Phil needs to hit some home runs with his moves these next few off-seasons, I'm sick of the Knicks always lacking talent.

Question, defense aside,

Do we like Hornacek?

I actually love the fact that he's no afraid to bench "stars" if they aren't doing what they are supposed to do. He seems great for a young rebuilding team.

However, I am deeply concerned about the defensive issues that appear to be cancerous top to bottom. He has berated the team, publicly, though, so I am willing to believe the defensive personality of the team falls of the shoulders of Noah, Melo & Rose since they are the captains and veterans of the team and should be chewing the entire team out for defensive intensity.

I'd like to see Horn back next year. Since proper development can't be achieved for young guys unless we reduce the toxic element in the organization, Melo - even though he's been professional - because we will be in the sports section for non-basketball reasons if he stays.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
@Code : Karma I guarantee that next years Knick thread will be better than this one if they get a top 5 pick, even if the Knicks are worse record wise. Look at the Lakers thread, you can sell a fanbase on hope a lot easier when there's young players involved, and seeing a player/pairing develop is better than watching a bad team try to compete with a bunch of vets.

I remember when Barack became President, I actually said, "Watch yall, Conservatives will show Dems how to be a respectful opposing party!" I was so fukking wrong. :snoop: The point being, the other side loves to stick it to whatever ideology is in the spotlight. shyt is so lame.

If we get a top 5 pick & Melo finds a new home, on behalf of the Pro-Melo Delegation, I PROMISE we won't be in the thread every time something happen to the team next year on some:

"Hmm... that happened but Melo ain't here to blame, huh. Wish he were here to blame, huh...:sas2:"
passive aggressive shyt:scust:.

Just wanted to put that out there. I agree that the thread will be less polarized. Looking forward to it.

Hope so.

Just tired of being a miserable Knicks fan.

Always terrible. Year after year.

Laker fans have no excuse for jumping ship. 5 championships in the last 18 years or so.

we haven't won anything since the early 70s, haven't made the finals since 94'

And had 9 losing seasons from 01-10

At some point it falls on the organization to make the right moves. And if destroying and rebuilding is the right move, stop procrastinating and just get it done.

Keep Horn for at least another year. All this instability undermines the org. There's been some good here and a lot of bad X and O s wise, but firing another coach makes the team even more unstable.

He does need a good defensive coach though. If we had a decent defense, we would've been able to squeeze out more than a few of those close games this season.

If you haven't noticed I'm a lot more forgiving of teams that enter into rebuild, or have young cores they can build around. If the Knicks finish this season with the draft in mind, they should be fine for next season. All I want to see from them is direction, they need to focus on what it is they want, because the team from jump was constructed with the half hearted attempt to contend for a playoff spot which is just :ld:

The Knicks haven't had a proper rebuild, they need the fans to get on board with the slow burn and rebuild, that is the way back. Just getting top 6 would help them a lot, with the talk of the Knicks being interested in Jrue Holiday I suspect they want one of the wings in the draft - Isaac / Jackson, and if they do draft Isaac it will require patience from fans as his body will need to catch up to his game.

With their bad decisions there's one area where they do deserve credit and they have clearly learned their lesson which is - Do not trade draft picks. That alone should help put some faith in their moves, they've done well with the draft and finding rotational players, they just need the top tier draft talent now.

The individuals on this team are why the defense stinks

I'm Not sold on Hornacek either way but this team is not any good so it's hard to kill him
for the Knicks current record

We the anti Melo crowd while no fans of Melos ballstopping no defense game at all aren't saying Melo leaves and we magically become a good team

The point of trading Melo is to bottom out go young and get a few more lotto picks till KP takes the next step

Even the biggest of Melo supporters such as yourself have to admit it makes no sense to build the team around him anymore

I'm givin' dude a mulligan on this season. He's still learning aspects of the triangle himself, so adding aspects of it probably wasn't easy to begin with. Then he had a whole new roster with a lot of youth and the starting PG missed the entire preseason when the offense should have been installed. Then you add that the players had a meeting with management asking for LESS triangle only to have the triangle reinstalled later on...it's a mess fam. So the chaos is way too heavy.

So far what I've liked from Horny is that he's experimental but sticks to things in game when they're working. But then that's also a con because something will work for a game and then he won't go back to it next time out (ie: Chasson Randle's success just recently and Willy's success earlier in the season in limited viewings). For the most part, I've been okay with his use of TO's and his playcalling in crunch time has been hit or miss but there's usually a pretty clear logic to his moves (though some ish kills me like leaving Noah out there for last possession plays when he's easy to cheat off of). From a perspective of player growth, jury's out but I like Willy and Baker's development especially and KP was looking sharp before some of his injuries. Basically, he's been up and down but it's been a chaotic season so I'm down to watch him work through an offseason and next year. We need some damned stability and I'm really hoping Hornacek sticks to help with that.

Fisher last yr had KP looking like a future legend this yr he looks like a glorified high usage Ryan Anderson

How many coaches you want to fire? At some point it's not the coaches fault, maybe it's the players :ld:

Well shyt two coaches got fired because Phil Jackson didn't like them and you didn't say a word why not fire a third who has been more horrible then both of them.

shyt Woodson got fired because of injuries and personal issues in felton and jr's life and nobody cared. Fisher got fired because Melo got hurt and he wanted to changed the offense and have Rambis backstabbing him.

Like yo the Knicks haven't won back to back games since dec. of last yr WTF can't yall see this mfer is trash and how many close games did they lose because of him, like damn black coaches get shytted on for less but lets give this guy one more yr to prove what. KP last yr was looking like a star this yr he looks like Sabonis from OKC with a high usage
