Rubio isn't that good, but he's better than this incarnation of Rose that has tunnel vision. You can't have a PG like Rose with Melo on the same team, it just doesn't work.
I think yall are too caught up with the PPG, Rose right now is a SG masquerading as a PG, that would be fine if he weren't shooting 24% from three, or the 4.5apg to 2.5 turnovers per game but he's got the second highest usage rate on the Knicks. I think you all need to look closely at his numbers, and then compare them to other players, for instance his usage rate is higher than Mike Conleys, Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday, Kyle Lowry, yet his numbers are terrible in comparison. To put it in perspective, his rate of production vs his usage rate is on par with first and second year PGs who are between 19-21.
I hate game manager PGs like Rubio, but the Knicks offense is so stagnant and should be better than it is, nevermind the fact getting Rubio insulates you from having to resign Rose which would be the biggest mistake this summer. And as shytty as I think Rubio's game is, he actually does play defense. The Wolves want to move on from him because they have a PG they feel will be starting soon, the Knicks do not have a PG that is a long term solution, or even a 1-2 year solution on their team, Rubio can be that bridge and also would be a good backup if you do draft one.
