What do you guys think of Shabazz? Young wing that potential let's us play small next year. (Assuming Melo stays)

Rose and KOQ for Rubio and Shabazz with a starting lineup looking like:
Rubio
Ball/Monk/Jackson/Fultz/Smith (in the order that I would want to draft)
Shabazz
Melo
KP

Old Brooklyn
If he goes to the Cavs, drops 30 on us, and hit a game winner over KP, then we deserve it for how unfairly we've treated him. He didn't do shyt but play. That's all MELO did.
:whoa: at the bolded, breh.

Everything else is fair game. No need anyone coming in and embarrassing the future of this franchise.

I'lll cosign everything else but KP needs to progress and shine moving forward. :wow:

LOL...Rubio is not some defensive stalwart. The problem with the Knicks' defense is the philosophy and schemes. That won't change with Rubio.

Well, no. Their problem is talent. They don't have enough of it, and almost NONE of it is defensive oriented. Scheme whatever, Derrick Rose is goddawful, Melo doesn't play D, and Noah/Wily are too slow footed to consistently be good defenders. KP is great at he rim, but doesn't close out on shooters/stretch 4's/ and Lee's defense is good, but not as good as advertised.

And when you go the bench, it somehow gets worse, aside from Holiday.

There is no scheme on the planet that could make Rose a good defender.

i would take rubio over this non passing muh fukka reggie :scust:
then we have to be locked into his contract for what...3 more years? :hhh:

I mean, he and Rubio actually both have pretty reasonable salaries now, with the new cap. But yeah, I don't know if I could put up with a guy who's gonna play just like Rose for the next three seasons.

What has Melo done? Enlighten me.

I'm a Knicks fan but not a blind Knicks fan. Fanbase is goat . Organization is a disgrace.
Force a trade to the organization. Not improving his all around game. Get one of his NBA friends to come play for the team.

You sound like a Melo Stan instead though. Just being real:manny:

I'm a big fan but if he goes I ain't gon follow him around like cats in here follow bron around.:dame:

He can't force a trade. He's not a GM. Knicks wanted him. Denver wanted to trade him. He didn't force anything. Didn't even have a no trade clause like he does now to decide where he wanted to go.

Just more incompetence by the Knicks. They chose not to wait till the offseason. He didn't put a gun to the Knicks head to trade him. And none of the Knicks pieces they traded MELO for have gone on to do anything.

He is who he is as a player. Had a season here averaging 29/7/3 and another averaging 27/8/3 as a first option. And he did his job.

Knicks failed. Like they always do. Can't keep blaming the players. It can't be the players every time we get someone. It can't be the players when they run KP out of town in 6-7 years. It's the organization. And the fact that we're such a loyal fanbase that we'll still sellout the garden and buy Merch regardless of how the org. Behaves and regardless of the team success. Dolan knows this. It's why he doesn't care.

So the fukk what? That was 3-4 years ago. Multiple surgeries ago -- and he was playing with Prime Deng/Noah and Butler.

Derrick Rose is a terrible defender now. He has bad instincts, and doesn't have the explosive athleticism to make up for it.

I wanted Rubio as a stop gap heading into the offseason last year (I swear I had a discussion with @tremonthustler1 about expecting him to hit the trading block) so I'm biased but I like this move. Rubio is probably dollar for dollar a better PG than we can expect to sign and having him means we can go BPA in the draft if the PG's are gone. I'd rather take Monk over Fox for example and I like Jackson as much or more than any PG in the draft. He's not gonna ruin the tank, he'll get KP and Willy some easy looks and Rubio/Lee is actually a defensive backcourt that won't have me punching walls all game...not world beating defense, but solid pair. Reggie Jackson though...you ain't talkin' me into him...not feelin' it.
