It's funny; in Bushwick/Williamsburg, when I was growing up, the only white folks in the area was the schoolteachers, cops, and some business owners on either Knickerbocker Ave or Graham Ave. When it got dark, them nikkas was ghost. I don't count the Hasidic Jews cause they had it on lock. Regular white folk, never saw them around. Now when I go back I see them around the hood like everything is sweet, walking around like :youngsabo::obama::birdman:

I just spent a whole weekend in Williamsburg. Shins concert, eating at their best restaurants(for the love of god eat at a restaurant called Aurora) etc. I gotta say Williamsburg>>>any NYC neighborhood.

The sad thing was that I was the only minority(outside the Asians) In those restaurants. Rarely did I see a hispanic or black person eating in those restaurants or walking outside. WTF is going on? Do NYC hispanics and blacks not enjoy the good life? Hipsters are pretty harmless and welcoming. Hispanics and blacks are just close minded or think about race too much(feel out of place?). They can't all be broke. I'm certainly not rich.

Cause nikkas like to eat fast food and not have hobbies outside of chasing pusy. :ninja2:

Depends what type of life you would like to have. You couldn't pay me to live in western New York. New York itself is really white and homogeneous as soon as you leave the city. There aren't many true cities in New York either. If you're a family man and the suburbs are your thing I guess it works? Upstate and rural NY are really beautiful and the scenery is really a throw back to earlier times which is awesome... there's just nothing to do there in a sense. Houses really are not that cheap at the end of the day either everything adds up if you want to be somewhere "nice".

Yeah they're all pretty rundown and violent. When the factories closed things went downhill.

I don't think New Rochelle is that nice... I consider all of that a suburb of the City anyways.

If you go further out towards the CT border it's pretty :mjplease:
the amount of money that requires is practically unreachable though.

You've reminded me how much I dislike my state and suburbs, thank you.

In the Silver Lining
New York City Development News - Page 84 - SkyscraperCity

New uber-luxury highrise planned for the High Line neighborhood. The condo is located 522 West 29th Street and called the Soori High Line. Quotes from the article (and image source):

Quote:
The project is named Soori High Line, and it’s being developed by New York-based Blackhouse and Singapore-based Oriel... The building, located between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, will be designed by SCDA Architects and have an “Asian-inspired trendsetting modern aesthetic...” Apartments will have 18-foot ceilings, private heated swimming pools, fireplaces in the living rooms, bespoke fittings everywhere and “bathrooms with spectacular views.” Amenities will include a concierge, library, wine cellar and gym.

Closer look at the ridiculous pool:

........ this joker is nice .... it's only like 3 - 4 stories.... which I guess makes some sense, since you it may be a lil dangerous to have a pool 27 stories in the sky like that......................... but then again you could just make some safety modifications..

Manhattan
I was walking around Fort Greene today after getting my haircut...

- New restaurants under construction everywhere
- Between 1/3 to half of the couples were interracial... Black women / white men, black men / white women, Asian women / black men, Asians / whites, Latina / black men, etc
- Joggers everywhere
- A lot of Citibike stations

Neighborhood change has been accelerated by the Barclays Center
