Probably some but few and far between, down there is really white, not that it matters to me in this case. I could own and I'd say schools and housing are more important. The density down there is pretty high anyways if there's somewhere towers like this should be built it's there. They're also not tearing down any significant buildings to do it.Aren't some of the owners black?
Gentrification is the wrong word to use, especially when gents aren't really moving in. Its a hodgepodge of people.
Also the land is cheap because the current people living on it, are devaluing it. The real problem are airbnb's as been shown by a 10 year study that had landlords kick people out and rent out the space to tourists who paid more.
