And like the other dude said, plenty of big chains like that opened up in the Bronx and the areas are still cac free more or less. They probably didn't open up businesses back in the day because of the negative stigma associated with The Bronx, but now they realize the locals will shop there and tbey can make money.

Starbucks is high end to you ? What's Brooklyn Roasting Company and Tobeys then? Starbucks is far from high end coffee. It's in Asian and Spanish areas also. Matter of fact shouldn't we have access to better quality things? Or What you saying is we can have fast food Duncan donuts crap instead of better quality choices .Nah fam....

Most of the higher end coffee places usually come before Starbucks if anything.
The fact remains when you escalate the property values of the neighborhoods it becomes a target for those on the outside, lets boil it down to brass tax...
there are plenty of black owned businesses in south jamaica as is, they dont need starbucks coming in and fukking up the bottom line.It starts in stages... first comes the shops, then the hipsters come, then they look to take over the neighborhood, then more shops are made, thus raising property values, then things get expensive.
I've seen it over and over... especially in brooklyn where the original residents cant afford to live there anymore which was bullshyt...

Right by the housing court. Go and check there are no hipsters , it's Asian ask other posters on here who live in the area. They have the spots on lock now.
