They dont though. Thats just you projecting your fear and discomfort.

People get mad when these people come in and open a coffee shop. When they were there for years and didn't open anything or DO anything.

U ever see a kid get mad about someone picking up a toy they weren't even playing with? That's how a lot of people mad at gentrification sound.

The wave was rich for surfing but nikkas didnt want to hop on the boards... and now they wanna get mad cause it passed them by :mjlol:

nikkas gotta stop making excuses and start making moves

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about people who just moved in complaining about soulfest at the park going all day when its been like that for years. New neighbors calling the cops on a jazz musician who has been playing on his stoop for decades. I don't have a problem if they want to open up new stores, just dont complain about the African drummers in the park.

:yeshrug:

And those people are hardly represent the norm. I'm sure there are plenty of those newbies who are in the park watching or enjoy that jazz musician. We dont need to talk about that tho :steviej:

i just read some statistic that there's only like 4000 cacs in Harlem as opposed to 8000 Latinos and that people should take notice of the rise of Mexicans and other Latino groups over the white population growth

South BX will be different in 5 years, there's going to be a Whole Foods/Trader's Joe's there in 10 years.

It's not that big of a deal, because Latinos will soon be reclassified as white. Just like Jews; Arabs, Italians, and Irish were reclassified as white in the US.

would you rather live among a bunch of poor violent negroes (no 'cism) or elitist, hipster CACs? If you want to be safe, we all know the answer. Yeah, I'd rather Harlem be gentrified by nice professional black people, but there aren't enough of us to do that.

as effed up as that sounds thats the truth. I am a hard working black man who really aint for the dumb shyt...shiftless nigruhs on the corner with their whole asses out trying to holla at bishes, loitering and general ghetto fukkery. Now when I was younger and wasnt part of the working world I didnt give a shyt about this..but as your priorities change so does your taste in quality of life

I would rather these areas in harlem and BK have progressive blacks who arent about the dumb shyt, invest in the neighborhoods and make things better for the young people coming up
but sadly, we cant handle the job so whitey swooped in and told niggruhs :camby:

It's so-called hood for now. but I grew up in that area and can see with my own two eyes that it wont last. There's a parking garage a couple of blocks south of the new Yankee Stadium that will get leveled and a MLS soccer stadium (Yankees co-own the new franchise) is going to put in its place. In that immediate area, there are new parking structures, the new Metro North train station, the streets/dividers on the Grand Concourse in the 160s are all fixed up and you KNOW that with all of the new additions and whatever is coming next they wont let it get fukked up.

I can totally see there being a huge wave of changes coming for that part of the BX, and extending all the way down to Mott Haven and down to the water near the Third Ave bridge
