Junior's sucked anyway, plus all those rats running in the cheesecake, plus the commercialization of their brand such as being in Times Square.

Haven't eaten there since I graduated Tech, but knowing it was there when I come back to NY was cool. It's a landmark.

I just read the article and was about to post it, but props. While I don't agree with the whole thing, I'd agree with about 90%.

@Wild self why do you keep harping on about ownership as if that's the only aspect of the matter. Lets be real, most people will never own property in their life (black and white). The "system" (and I don't mean that in some conspiracy theorist or self defeatist way) wasn't set up for that. Doesn't make what's happening any less heartbreaking to witness.

Nah, man. No beef. It just seems like placing total blame on those being pushed out when it's not solely their faults. Seems like victim blaming when it's just the nature of the beast. Those pushed out will settle elsewhere, they'll raise their cost of living skyhigh and then come back. It's a never-ending cycle. We're just witnessing it in our lifetime. Hopefully next go around we do things differently.

Edit: interesting article. Where do you stand?

I don't know:ld: whatever is good for the people who live there (the owners and the renters).

Yep...Its funny how they say they want to negotiate a deal to come back but i think we know how thats going to end..

Coming back from the city and seeing the juniors sign up esp at night all lit up was like a real welcome back to brooklyn feel. Maybe they stay who knows but condos there. :scusthov:

man those people who are buying their land wont let them come back. its one thing if Junior's was Katz's and had had that demographic that comes to Katz but they dont want any brehs and brehettes eating/chilling on the ground floor of their new building. And just like you said, it was a good look rolling in either direction on Flatbush in the whip at night and seeing those Juniors lights. I never eat there because the food is meh (to me) but the place was and institution.

with that said, downtown BK just looks wack to me with these new hi rise residential buildings (who the fukk is really living in these shyts?). Theres no cohesion and it just doesnt feel livable, just like the staleness of the financial district. Makes you wonder whats going on in these developers minds when they throw these buildings up. And like someone already said, nothing is sacred. Ive been reading about all of these super all 70-90 story residential lux buildings that are going up on 57th street in Manhattan and even the rich folks who live there now are on some WTF shyt because its just a bit overboard.

If motherfukkas in the Bronx are smart, they will hold on to whatever they have, if anything

That was a good little audio clip, he said the NYC black population is dropping, I'm not sure if that is raw numbers or percentages
