fukked up thing is that in NY, we lost, as a people. There may be a few blacks with $$$ to cop their own cribs and start a business here and there but it's not enough because even tho you have some well off blacks here, they are outnumbered by those who literally don't have shyt.

You want a crib? Expect to pay 1500 a month IF your paperwork I straight and IF you make "enough" to satisfy the landlords requirement.

You want a job? Your resume/skills better be tight and you have to have the right look/attitude that vibes with the supervisor and company culture

And I know this is the case on a smaller scale in other cities, but NY has turned into a different animal in the last 15 years. You can still have a good time and find legit spots to chill if your taste is finely tuned enough, but it's all starting to look like an episode of Friends up in this bytch.

Fam, I'm doing thru it right now. Printed out copies of all the shyt you mentioned, put the PDFs on the iPad just so i had it with me if i needed to send a copy of something to myself. Most places just want 1 months rent and the deposit and if you deal with a broker then there goes another months rent.

I'm gonna "settle" on a spot a found in the area I came up in over in the BX. its not perfect and hopefully the ratchetness doesnt exceed my tolerance, but I'm gonna make it work, stack my paper and buy something in 2 years. if i'm gonna have to go thru all of this paper work bullshyt, i'd rather it be for something that I'm trying to buy. If ima shovel 1500+ into a spot, its gonna be for a mortgage.

I love my city, but this place is about to be finished

the gap is already here. they just opened up a Joes Crab Shack by the Apollo.

and on 125th and Lenox (on the corner) they are building a big ass Whole Foods with some apartments on top of the building.

Spanish Harlem, on the other hand, has a built in resistance because of the sheer amount of projects in that area. They will literally have to knock them shyts down and put something else in their place in order to make it like the other side of Harlem.
