I'd do it for a top 10 business school. It's hard to come out of Harvard, Wharton, Columbia, etc. with out a nice paying gig that should allow you to pay for that loan in a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise, nah.

And for an MBA, you’re paying for the network. This nikka went to an online school, dropped a dime, and got zero network. Just useless.

Also a lot of you people who aren’t taking law or medicine need to stop assuming that a top college is the only solution.

My homegirl is a VP at Goldman Sachs and she attended Baruch College.

Baruch College is part of CUNY so it’s a city college but they are known for their top notch business program.

She got a internship easy and now is VP.

Since her school was part of CUNY her tuition was cheap and it’s already paid off.

I always tell people either go to a top school in the field you want to go in for the name recognition and internship opportunities globally or find a market/area you want to live in and go to an affordable school in that market. You just need to get good internships/working experience alongside a degree from a known school and you are good.

I live in NYC and I hate when I run into people who paid to go to Columbia or NYU and then after graduating look for jobs in NYC. Take that degree to Texas, or DC, or Europe and get bank off the fact the schools name is known world wide. If you wanted to work in NYC go to a Good CUNY, or one of the Top SUNY or Top Rutger schools part time and get a job while you are in school. You’ll have a lot less debt and more job options locally than someone who spent almost 100k going to Columbia full time and only done internships.

Live comfortably with close to a million dollars in non-dischargable debt?
full

Saw what now?

Blame Biden for that..... also Warren was one of the biggest proponents for letting people get out of college debt through bankruptcy. On the low/low I feel this issue is gonna get bigger the closer we get to election time. Especially because I expect them both to be running until the primary election.

On the flip the main reason college loans are by far the easiest loans to get is because that is non-dischargeable debt. The purpose was to make loans easier to give out and college more access. The fukk up really was no price cap was put on how much schools could charge. That’s where the system fell apart and you see the rise of for profit schools and little no name school charging 20k a year in tuition.

That's what I meant. After a certain amount of year they're forgiven and they don't count against you anymore. I don't remember how long that is tho.

20 years. The problem with this family is that even if they consolidate it will still be at least 1000k payment a month (combined for the husband and wife). They then have to pay that 20 years or any combination of deferments and etc.

But even when its forgiven taxes will hit them up because for that one year the loan forgiveness will count as 1 million plus (loan plus interest) as a payment to them. So they will have a tax payment of 250k plus (could be half a mill tax hit).

That loan forgiveness does not get them out of the woods.

If I was OTIS I would put Paws on her for making it seem like I'm the primary reason we are in DEBT

Life did not go as planned. Otis and I could not secure high-paying jobs. Otis accumulated $80,000 in undergraduate debt, grappled studying for the Dental Admission Test and couldn’t get the test score needed for acceptance. I doubted my ability as a writer and began to explore a career in the mental health field.

The two things that we wanted in life were children and financial happiness. I stopped working to stay home and raise our son with plans to expand our family. After leaving work, I was confronted with intense identity issues: Who was I without a career?

:stopitslime: how the fukk u make plans to expand your family and you don't even have a plan in place to tackle your accumulating debt?

:snoop: GMB prayer warriors let's keep OTIS in our thoughts

I know right?? Chicks will always blame you for every single thing that goes wrong son.

She depending on this nikka to pay all the debt lmfao!!

I’m surprised she never said what she was going to do to pay her loans off while he’s in school??

How do they even take care of bills now?? I heard you can’t even work while in dental school because of the course work.

And I hope she isn’t betting on her blog to make money to pay bills ASAP.

I’m genuinely curious to see how they plan on having income during the next few years.
